I was trying to figure out if the mounts we can buy from the crown store would be any better than the one I already have ( imperial one ) By better i mean more speed or carrying capacity, if anyone know I would appreciate it :)

As far as I know all mounts in the Store are the same and have 0 stats, they're simply a texture, the stats are per-character and obtained by training the Riding Skill at a stables.

Thank you @Kragorn :) I like the look of the new horses, but it's not really much point spending crowns when I have a good functional horse already

Indeed, all the crown store stuff is just visuals, and all the stats are now character dependent through riding skill. Meaning also, no more "two different horses".

So, crown mounts only if having your perfect looks is worth spending those crowns. Some people like flaming hooves enough to shell out the price. Others just keep to their old boring horse, and save the crowns for a wedding dress or something...

Each as they think best. ;)

    One word: guar.

But otherwise, there are no stat bonuses conferred to mounts anymore. Your riding skill is determined by character.

with 1.6 there was a change to the mount system. before 1.6 mounts had different stats. after 1.6 all mounts have 0 stats and is visual only. the stats were moved to character instead + you can get 60 in all 3 stats now, unlike before.

Can somebody explain what "stats were moved to character" means? Is there a difference between the horses after all?

but to answer your question, it doesn't matter what mount you have. The speed, capacity and stamina of the horse is trained by character and not by mount.

Actually there is a difference I have noticed. The horse hitching bug. When horses cross uneven surfaces at a sprint, they "hitch" or pause. There was an older patch that fixed this bug and then the bug was re-introduced. Some mounts such as the Senche mounts do not have this same hitch when crossing uneven surfaces.

eh its just a skin, nothing really better, BUT in term of aesthetic, i like guar better....probably because of its bipedal which similar with my chocobo on FF14 or peko peko on Ragnarok Online (oh the memories~)

All Mounts have the same stats, the only difference you're getting is appearance.

Yes that means a Camel can sprint just as fast as a Lion in this game.

An Khajiit should ride an Senche, an werewolf should obviously ride an wolf and a Argonian an Guar until we get an clanfear or raptor mount.
For the warden class an bear mount is an must.

And remember the old system, or rater remember forgetting to switching from the pack horse used for questing to the fast one for pvp and could not keep up with the others

Do you think they will introduce khajit mounts in the future since they have lions and other big cats already?

They all move the same speed (when fed), but the different kinds of mounts do move differently.

I prefer how senche mounts move, they kind of stealthily pad along the ground.

The best mount is the palomino horse. No matter the stats.

Due to the animation of the guar it actually appears to run faster and doesn't trip over as much geometry as the other 4 legged mounts which makes this the better mount.

All mounts are equally good when it comes to stats. But I prefer senche mounts since they feel faster to me (even though they arn't).

I use my cloud spotted senche. It and the Dro-m'athra senche are my favorite mounts in the game.
