Today I was stopped in Bangkorai by a guard. And you know what? I paid it.
I did not have any stolen goods on me. As a sorc, getting away from guards is child play. I did not have any business I needed to complete in town. And was about to log off anyways.
So why did I pay it? The guard in a very empathetic tone said something like, "I get it. Everybody makes mistakes. Let's make this right."
Wow! The voice acting alone gave me a role-playing moment, something rare for my min/max mindset. I paid it the bounty only because an NPC made something not stat-related seem reasonable!
In short, THANK YOU ZOS FOR THE VOICE ACTING!

Mataata✭✭✭I had a similar encounter, only the guard very nervously said something like "Um, could I trouble you to pay your bounty? It would be so much easier than the alternative.." and I felt bad for the poor guy who was probably new to the job.1
