Now for seriousness, about to be done downloading ESO tonight or tomorrow morning and I need to switch around my DKs build, NB is fine, Sap Tank OP, Sap Tank always OP. I don't want to run a Stamina build, as much as it intrigues me to go Sword/Board Dual Wield, I know it won't be very viable in PvP so yeah... Kind of interested in basically switching out my Resto for a Destro and going Sword/Board caster, but meh. Anyways... Post yer builds and gibbe ideas... I require thy ideas!

    This is my own build.
    I am doing stam DK
S/B main and Dual on second bar (yes: no range is big weakness)
Using Med dominion 4 pc and torug pact 3 pc (when dual it will be 4 pc). Poisonous serpent rings (2), Dominion choker for Ult reduction (with sword and board), Dual (Poisonous serpent sword and dagger of torug pact)

It's my job, to irritate you. Not the other way around, now seriously though... Any ideas for a build? I got a stamina build I'm going to try out eventually for my DK, it's posted in Xylena's thread from a few weeks ago... Sword/Board 2H, basically stack regen so I can perma block for the lulz and use magicka for Reflect and GDB.

Yeah that's why I was iffy about going Stamina, only ranged you have access to is Bow, and I hate bow. And I hate those that use Bow, and I hate those that used to use Bow. Etc. Etc. Etc.

Really leaning towards a caster build... I dunno why, just something about spamming crushing shock with molten armament heavy attacks because my animation canceling finger is god tier :smirk:

Not sure the build needs to change as the playstyle. Hard to perma-block without gearing specifically for it and scales does not reflect Jesus Beam.

The group I run with would heal me through Jesus Beam, so no big deal... Templar Nation OP... Or I'd just run solo and immediately shield charge the Templar using it. Until they make it purge-able, then its no big deal.

Destro/Restro DK setup is amazaballums in 1.6 ( No nirn here, gtfo )

Even plotting a dual Destro burnt keep build for group play.

I think the emphasis on the viability of stam builds in 1.6 has led a mass switch from magicka whilst the rest giving up because they can't permablock in light. ( You can if you spec for it, and live for days, but its not my cuppa tea atm )

I went with a Bae "Roll Away" Come Back type build, instead of blocking; after he wrecked my pretty little templar's face.

2H/Dual Wield. I use Flying Blade, which hits hard, as my range. I'm running a more balanced build so I can survive, so I don't hit as hard as @Galalin, but I don't melt easy at all. However, the right combo of abilities and I am able to 3 shot someone, got close on a two shot.

If you need testing when you come back, let me know. You can beat me up like @Galalin @Vortexman11 and @Armitas

You need to experience Radiant Oppression against someone built to use the ability. It hits hard, very hard and some times you can't see the animation at all to even know who to target. I tried blocking it, but it drains stamina very quickly, so I started going with Igneous Shield and Vigor combo. Haven't died to it since I started that and even if I am in the execute range, the shield allows me to heal up to get out of it.

But yours is for DPS and Trials so it isn't that viable in PvP... I liked my 1.5 build because I could simataneously tank and DPS, that was mainly because block was cheap and I had Engine Guardian, plus my stam and magicka were balanced, more balanced than most DKs... Technically a hybrid build but I used my stam for defense instead of offense. But 1.6 lulz phucks hybrids in the bungholio

@Panda244 almost forgot, don't use Dragon Fire Scale! Use reflective plate! So many people are running around with defensive stance, so you cast their shooting star/icy comet back at them and they reflect back at you for 30% increased damage. I've seen dragon knights get one shot when I reflect them back on my templar!

I am still in light armor with sword/board and trying to make it work. I think i'm on the right track though. Here is what I have learned so far.

    Shields
These are your only defense in light armor. Don't bother with crit defense or armor because you can't crit shields and shields have no mitigation. Focus on Bastion and increasing your health. Try to avoid stacking Harness magicka because you won't know which one ended and you might start taking physical damage.

    Block
Block costs a lot more, and with light armor it doesn't do much mitigation. This can be somewhat overcome with defensive posture in place of reflective scales. Nothing reduces block cost except things that specifically mention block cost so don't think your glyphs and thief CP are helping. Block doesn't help against most CC anymore. Shards, Dragon leap and wrecking blow will all go through block half the time for some reason. In addition to that there are several new skill that will penetrate block and leave you wide open. About all it's good for now is reducing damage

    Shields Part 2
If you hold block with a shield up it consumes stamina without providing any mitigation. However if you dodge then it costs nothing, and it saves your shield from damage. A good way to boost your shield defense is to have a good amount of dodge like from elude. Dodge and shield make a great combo.

    CC.
You are going to be CC'd a lot because block is almost useless, and immovable is nerfed off the table of options for anything but heavy. Make sure you have a good amount of stamina recovery because you will be CC breaking every 5 seconds and you need to do it immediately because your block is down. Put CC on a button instead of L/R mouse.

    Armor.
You will probably have to wear some medium armor to keep up with the CC breaks; I'm using 3. Medium armor still has great armor so put reinforced on the large pieces. Make the light armor pieces infused or divines. It's worth it to maximize it where you can in case your shield runs out.

I was already wearing Medium Armor in 1.5 to boost Stam Recovery, and I was a WW, and I used one stam recovery glyph, though recovery glyphs seem like @ss now so I'll probably swap it out for block cost reduction. I don't like what they did with CC's going through block, it's ridonk... But because of it I'll probably swap out something for Fossilize. Annnnnd Hardened Armor, totally slotting that.

I have to keep Rapid on my bar at all times now due to the amount caltrops in every battle. Literally, every battle the ground is completely covered in caltrops.
