*** Vet EXP Nerf - ZoS Illogic Examined ***

This post will (try to) examine why ZoS thinks its ok to nerf "overland, normal monster kill XP" in Craglorn.

For reference, killing a normal (non-boss, non-elite or special) overland mob (not in delves/dungeons) grants the following EXP per kill when the VR of the character equals the VR of the mob:

VR1: 414 XP
VR2: 414 XP
VR3: 414 XP
VR4: 414 XP
VR5: 414 XP
VR6: 414 XP
VR7: 414 XP
VR8: 414 XP
VR9: 414 XP
VR10: 414 XP
VR11: 114 XP
VR12: 114 XP
VR13: 114 XP
VR14: 114 XP

As you can see, starting at VR11 (Craglorn is the only zone which has VR11+ mobs), XP is nerfed.

Lets compare the 1-50 zones, VR1-VR10 zones and Craglorn, for the purpose of possible XP gain.

1-50 Zones:
- 1-time Zone Quest XP
- 1-time Fighters/Mages Guild Questline XP
- 1-time Main Questline XP
- 1-time Delve XP
- 1-time World Boss XP
- 1-time Exploration XP
- (Repeatable) monster farming/kill XP
- (starting at lvl 45) (Daily) Undaunted Pledge XP
- (Starting at lvl 10) PvP XP (hahahahaha!!!!!)

VR1-VR10 Zones:
- 1-time Zone Quest XP
- 1-time Delve XP
- 1-time World Boss XP
- 1-time Exploration XP
- (Repeatable) monster farming/kill XP
- (Daily) Undaunted Pledge XP
- Trials (unlikely you will be invited)
- DSA (unlikely you will be invited)
- PvP XP (hahahahaha!!!!!)

Craglorn:
- 1-time Zone Quest XP
- 1-time Delve XP
- 1-time World Boss XP
- 1-time Exploration XP
- (Repeatable) monster farming/kill XP (NERFED)
- (Daily) Zone Quest XP
- (Daily) Undaunted Pledge XP
- Trials
- DSA
- PvP XP (hahahahaha!!!!!)

As you can see, there really isn't much variation in the SOURCES of XP from level 1 to VR14. So, why has ZoS nerfed the World Boss and monster kill XP in the VR11-14 zone?
We players have had access to repeatable content since level 45.
We have 10 zones-worth of quest XP from VR1-10.

What could possibly be the reason for reducing XP at VR11-14, when those levels are IN NO WAY SPECIAL, and IN NO WAY HAVE OTHER OPTIONS FOR XP?

ZoS needs to share their reasons and communicate with the players here.

stating at VR11 (aka Craglorn) you have significantly larger clumps of mobs. Hence you can kill more of them in a shorter timeframe. Hence Mob-killing at "full XP" in Craglorn used to give more XP per hour then Mob-Killing in previous zones.

That said, XP-per-hour is in no way, shape or form equal among all of the other XP-giving activities you listed - and in light of the champion system ZoS should find ways to equalize it sooner rather then later

Pretty much. The total XP per group pf mobs is a little less, but per mob XP is a lot less.
Dungeon XP seems pretty similar for trash (but is worth even less than CL).

    VR11: 114 XP
    VR12: 114 XP
    VR13: 114 XP
    VR14: 114 XP

When I leveled my first character up and through VR10, I was getting 106 XP per kill on regular mobs and that was when it required multiple millions of XP to ding a new VR level. This is a vast improvement.

ZOS will just nerf all mob XP and screw everyone. Please stop making threads about it. At least we can grind if we want. Very soon we won't be able to even do that.

Saying something is better than the totally asinine system that went before it isn't, per se, a statement that it's sane now.

    Please define "Significantly larger clumps"?

In regular v1-v10 zones, mobs come in 1s, 2s and 3s.
In Craglorn, mobs come in 2s, 3s, 4s and 5s.

5 is not even double 3. You could argue for 248 XP per mob in a 5-pack based on your logic, but not 114 XP. And CERTAINLY 2 and 3 packs should still grant 414 XP per mob in the pack.

I think they're going to remove the Vet system? Seems a waste of time to fix something that's going to be removed. They've probably nerfed it so it will take longer to reach max level.

I think the problem with end game progression in TESO is that whoever originaly designed it haven't really played mmorpgs not for years atleast, probably just a few weeks looking at the systems. Because all the real depth in a mmorpg is actually missing, it's like the mmorpgs systems have been painted on.

    1. VR system is going away.
    2. You brought this on yourself. Grinders exploited the hell out of Craglorn. You reap what you sow.
    3. There are many, many more ways to get XP. Now you're just not able to get XP an an unfairly accelerated rate.

    1. Irrelevant.
    2. No we didn't.
    3. False, as proven in the OP.

Thanks for not even bothering to read the OP.
