Report Your CP Numbers Here

Hi,

I thought it might be helpful for the community to report the CP gains they are seeing.

I did a bit of basic testing earlier and here is what I found.

On my VR14, in Craglorn I was getting the following CP (unenlightened):
  • Vr11 7 Spellfiend = 1008 CP (0.25%)
  • Vr11 1 Fire Elemental, 1 Air Elemental, 5 Spellfiends = 1,226 (0.31%)
  • Vr11 1 Air Elemental, 2 Spellfiends = 505 (0.13%)
  • Vr11 1 Fire Elemental, 2 Air Elemental, 1 Spellfiend = 867 (0.22%)
  • Vr13 3 Wasps = 462 (0.12%)
  • Vr13 5 Wasps (nest) = 690 (0.17%)
  • Vr13 5 Scorpions = 720 (0.18%)

Enlightened is a 4x increase in gains. I haven't had a chance to test the 20% bonus from the CP passive yet but will hopefully get to tonight (1 more point needed).

I plan on testing some other areas later as well, but this is what I had time to record today.

They're probably fully aware of the areas to nerf any way by the increased activity in those places. I mean it's not like anyone bothered going to the VR10 zones before they needed to grind CP.

No one reported Skyreach Catacombs, yet that didn't stop them from nerfing it. And handing out 72 hour bans to people playing it...

Seriously, ... wow.. just wow... no wonder people don't like playing in Craglorn any more.

This has been hashed and rehashed over and over again, ZoS DOESN'T CARE or they would've taken our feedback 2 months ago and brought up XP gain from all sources except Grinding, instead all they do is nerf Grinding repeatedly.

Yes they did, there were multiple Threads calling out Catacombs specifically based on false rumors that some Players already had over 250 CP, which they didn't, but that didn't stop ZoS from destroying yet another valid way to earn XP.

I assume the CP numbers are XP numbers in this?

Don't think anyone has 1000CP yet, maybe next week, but not this week.

I know several people that got 72 hour bans from just playing Catacombs.

I wasn't one as I didn't get a chance to play for the first 3 days.. but it was one of the places I was going to go grind because it has lots of mobs and I can solo.

Maybe the exploit was a rumor but the BANS weren't. Like I said, I know a few people who got bans and were not too happy about it as they didn't realize they were doing anything wrong.

Anyways.. to get the thread back on track here is more data.

All data is from Bankorai VR10. Again on my VR14 toon.

And a little testing on my VR2 in Deeshan
    1. Exploration = 716 (0.18%)
    2. Quest Turn-in, 'Death Trap' = 3,742 (0.94%)
    3. 1 Maulborn = 414 (0.10%)
    4. 2 Maulborn = 828 (0.21%)
    5. Quest Turn-in, 'Nothing Left to Lose' = 3,742 (0.94%)
    6. Quest Turn-in, 'Death Trap' = 2295 (0.57%)

So far it looks like being <vr10 and questing is the way to go for CP.

I've noticed a lot faster CP gains on my VR2, and looking at a few numbers the mobs seem to be giving around 2x exp towards CP. That combined with quest turn-ins nets a lot more CP.

I really think it depends on the quests and how long it actually takes to finish them. Some quests are more time-consuming than others and in the time you do one of them you could have killed mobs to get more exp.

If ZOS does want us to quest and not grind mobs, they are gonna have to up the EXP from doing the quests. This doesn't help characters who have already completed all of the quests, though.

    Note on above numbers.

Boss kills included 4.5k xp for Achievement if I hadn't killed them. I was just looking at xp before and after.. but looking at logs from xp logger it looks like the additional 4.5k is on top of the boss kill and separate.

So if enlightened, you can get almost a 20k bonus for killing bosses the first time. If you haven't done a lot of the world bosses and are enlightened, it's probably a good time to go clean up some of them...

I agree... but I'm just speaking in comparison to questing on my Vr2 vs grinding on my Vr14.

Not only are mobs giving more xp on my Vr2 (because craglorn is nerfed into oblivion) but in addition to the mob kills you get the quest xp.

I've been getting about 8 CP per night on my Vr2 while enlightened, vs about 4 on my Vr14.

I guess all of those people who skipped Silver & Gold and grinded their levels in Crag actually did themselves a huge service because now they can go back and do the quests fairly fast at vr14 and get all that xp. You're talking about 12k per quest while enlightened.

True, some of the Cadwell Almanac quests give like 32k. I just spent the better part of today running quickly through Silver on an alt, and it was nice exp since I use Retreating Maneuvers to basically avoid 90% of the mobs and I also spammed E through all the quest dialogue (already know the storylines, no point to read it again). When you look at it that way, Cadwell quests are definitely the best way to level up.

But for people that take their time to enjoy the content--which I recommend if it is your first time through--I wonder if they still beat out grinding.

In a typical grind spot on my VR7 templar I have been pulling over 100k per hour solo (not the greatest spots but consistent and uncrowded). To beat that you would have to do the Cadwell quests pretty quickly, like I did earlier.

Well I found a new grind spot now that puts me at around 320k exp per hour when solo without enlightenment. Not sure how to beat that questing, really...even with Cadwell quests.

To get those numbers though I have to put 100% focus into grinding, it isn't relaxing at all. Questing is actually a lot more fun for me, assuming I haven't done the quests before.

I really wish they would have released something like Orsinium (or whatever the upcoming solo zone is) to go along with the champion system, and gave the quests there really good experience.

I am not against grinding at all, I actually like it to an extent, but the current gap in advancement between grinding and questing is just way too big. And that doesn't mean they should nerf grinding, it means they should boost questing exp. But how do they do that without all the people who have already completed the quests feeling slighted because newcomers will get rewarded more for completing the same content?

I actually like the champion system a lot, but releasing it without any new content was a mistake I think.

I'm hitting about 80-100k per hour grinding. 320k? That sounds like a good spot better keep it hush hush :)

For questing, I'm easily making a CP per hour. So that's 400k per hour.. of course... once the quests run out it's back to the grind or roll another alt.

Repeatable content would be nice... even if it was just on part with grinding..so that we at least had some options. But if you're VR14 and finished Silver & Gold you're basically limited to Grind, PvP, or Roll Alts.

I just don't see how you are getting that much questing...like I said I blew through Cadwell's Silver (only the almanac quests) as fast as possible and I don't think I got anywhere near that per hour.

I believe you, I just don't understand the disparity.

His numbers are backwards I think. 80-100k/hr grinding? What, is he killing mobs one at a time?

    LIke I said, not enlightened.

And there is no way anyone is getting 630k champion xp per hour not enlightened. THat's like 2.4 mil per hour while enlightened. Which works out to 6 CP per hour..
