Buyback for fences

Is there any reason why there is no buyback option for fences?

I realise that one could contrive any number of supposedly 'real-life' reasons, but a) very few if any players would know about what one can or can't do with real-life fences, so frankly any dogmatism about that is suspect, and b) it's no more or less realistic than buyback from normal vendors and is simply a quality of life issue that seems needed here.

(As you can probably work out, I accidentally sold something I wanted to launder - mea culpa, and n.b. I am not complaining or asking for redress, merely wondering why the option isn't there).

I don't know why it isn't there, but I like it.

I've developed the habit of going to the Launder tab first, laundering everything I need and then mindlessly fencing everything else.

Kind of like always starting an e-mail by adding the attachment before you add recipients or text.

The reason you can't buy things back from a fence is that you get Legerdemain exp from selling things to them as well as it going towards achievements.

If you could buy back stuff they would have to remove exp etc from you which is pretty dubious.

Thanks Dekkkameron for the answer - that makes sense. I'll just be more careful from now on!

once u sell your first blue item to a fence, u get prompted that actually explains you wont be able to buy items back

Actually selling any blue or purple item to the fence triggers that prompt each time... at least for me. I'm not sure if gold items do as well.

yes every d... time , just meant you will learn that if u sell to fences you wont be able to buy it again, with the prompt

though they should fix this, so we dont have to read it more then once
