Did you have enough gold on you when you were arrested?

Ever played other TES games? Just know that killing a chiken is worse than killing the emperor.....having said that, all seems in line with the TES justice

Howdy everyone,
On a quest today I was approaching a house (outside of any city) and was attacked by several npc's. In the ensuing fight, my crushing shock randomly targeted and hit a chicken - you know how it likes to randomly pick on the little creatures. So ok, I got the disreputable tag, whatever. I won't argue the moral wisdom in labeling me a criminal for defending myself and causing a civilian poultry casualty. No biggie, my bounty was 6 gold. When arriving in the big city to turn in my quest, I see a guard approaching me and I get ready to pony up the bounty for my animal cruelty. But no, this guard didn't want my gold, he wanted my life. No option to pay, just death at the hands of the ever-immortal guards.
Lots to be frustrated at in game these days, I figured best to complain about the little things. So how about it ZOS, can we rename this system? Is this really justice?

I guess you learned your place in the social pecking order.

Yes I know I could disable this, but I don't want to. I want the option, in fact the night before i had a good time with a friend killing an entire village. And yes, I had the gold on me, and the guard pried it from my cold, dead hands.

I don't know, I didn't check. It didn't occur to me that it was possible to be KILL ON SIGHT for 1 lousy chicken owned by thieves attacking me. For all I know, it was one of those fighting roosters and my life was in peril. Bet I could get a jury to buy that one.

Trying to be kind here but...
Your whole post is confusing and potentially misleading.....why?.....because>>
You killed NPCs the night before, racked up a huge bounty, got killed by guard's that night but STILL didn't pay off the bounty...the chickens the next day were, chickenfeed, not the real problem. You hadn't satisfied your previous bounty, that's why, I surmise, they came after you, not for the poultrycide...you can find your bounty on your "attributes" menu. The UI doesn't always update on screen, you are better off looking at the menu....FYI: sheep and critters are about 8-16g bounty. Each.
