Can we have a crafting option to change traits on gear?

Perhaps costing tempers or whatever mats made the piece and the trait stone?

So much of the trait system seems RNG, it would be really nice to be able to swap traits on really cool sets for PVP, and then back for PVE.

    I can imagine being able to right-click a gear piwce like you do to enchant, only having a new option to re-trait, and being able to select one of these special consumable trait stones from the store...

    Or they could just let you do it with regular trait stones. Well, that would be one way.

    I don't care how they decide to implement it. But there's a lot of otherwise great gear that comes with traits that are usel..... less than optimal.

    I fully agreed with the thread on changing styles as item appearance has absolutely no impact on game play. Though regardless of how much Id love to see trait changes being made available, I seriously doubt it will ever happen.

    Traits effect stats, and therefore abilities, and thus gameplay, and ultimately change the balance of the game. No matter how subtly we may think those changes would be, devs have the insight on how drastically trait changes could effect the global game system.

    In the end I see trait changes becoming more of a neucence then a help as players flipflop from this to that based on metagamed encounters. This boss I need impenetrable but for the next I want defending, then switch prices weapons to powered for another fight. Players would quickly be sick of 'being forced to change traits all the time' and formerly challenging encounters will be crap due to tinker armor.

    That is all not to mention crown buyers having the advantage of easily switching traits where B2P no-sub players do not and this entire game and forums turning into a giant "Pay to Win" cry fest.

    Speaking of changing gear, I wish there was a way to change the style. :'( Oh how I would love this. So everyone that was wearing the same set didn't look identical, and horrific cosmetics of dropped sets could be changed to something I didn't have to wear a disguise over.

    Master crafter ability maybe? It would be awesome if you could customize traits and appearances. The cost for alterations could be 1/2 of the temper cost to upgrade (the temper used would depend on current quality),1/2 the base material and the appropriate stone. I think this would make it expensive enough to prevent the expectation of constantly switching traits, but still attainable.

    This is clearly one of those instances where they could really get some brownie points by listening to their customers. Look at all the people with 1-3 stars who never post but felt strongly enough to come on here now and voice their opinion.

    +1 But only if we get a Rebalance of the traits. There are obvious traits wich are way too weak. Sturdy, well fited, training and exploration need to get as useful as divines, infused or impenetrable before we can the 'change trait' crafting option.

    As an avid Crafter I would love this.

    1. Must be Lvl 50 in the respective Craft (perhaps 8 Traits learned too?).
    2. Must cost a certain amount of Tempers (tbd).
    3. Must also use 1 "Alteration Crystal) purchased for 50 Crowns (or some other amount).
    4. Must be at a Crafting Station to do the transmutation process.
    5. "Alteration Crystal" can be traded - so that a non Crafter can use their Crowns and hire a Max Crafter to actually transmute the item.

    ^^^ How does that sound? I would add this feature for both Traits and Styles. :smiley:

    I could not agree more. There's nothing worse than finally getting that undaunted helm/shoulder you want and then having it be Sturdy or Well-fitted, hmph.

    Also I want to change Footman gear to not be exploration...

    I think you misunderstood :p
    They want us to grind everything but xp and champion points. That way the game feels like it has more content even though the last real content update was months ago, now we are stuck with gear grinding and meta content :|
