Error Messages should not plaster themselves Dead Center screen, especially during Combat

Who hasn't been there?

You're right in middle of a fight an some LUA error screen or something pops up dead center of your screen, full opacity with no keybound chance of dismissal.

They should
  • Fade out after a few seconds
  • Be like any other notification and be retrievable via Notifications tab (after the fight is over)
  • Show up off to the side (without half a screen's worth of white space)
  • Just not show if presently in Combat...

You end up fighting blind or pausing to try to clear the pop-up. Neither is a good option.

@ZOS_GinaBruno , please submit to the Devs for future changes. Thanks in advance.

    No, I have never had a lua or any other error message pop up in the middle of the screen. But I don't use any addons either.

    @onlinegamer1 , thanks for the recommendation, even though you've already congratulated yourself.

    This should be built in to not be so obnoxious. It should be a very basic part of the client, no add on required.

    To those like @Kragorn , glad to here you've somehow never encountered a single corrupt file, etc during your ESO journey, though I'm not sure how.

    Never happened to me, but has happened to a friend of mine. Hitting ESC key should clear anything on your screen.

    Yes. YES! Mostly it matters of you are in battle. A lot of addons have "hide in combat" option.

    Agree. I only use FTC add on and MM and i have gotten the error before during a combat situation. It was most certainly aggravating

    I have been crashing alot recently with all my addons updated running 1.6 I have disabled add-ons one at a time til the crashes stop, and I feel like they stopped when I Disabled FTC, have you noticed this?

    I know FTC is not fond of empty skill slots at the present time. Beyond that, I am not reallly experiencing crashes.

    If you ported over your LUA files for the addons from the previous, there may be something in there a particular addon doesn't like. Try renaming the LUA for the suspect addon and reloading the client. See if that helps.

    You do have the updated version of FTC? 1.37b, I think? It changed a couple times in a matter of a few days, so make sure it's the most recent one.

    Oddly no in game error messages, just strait up crash but the screen turns hazy white and window says unresponsive. I can say my entire secondary bar is empty, since I was just running a thieving setup on my primary. The crashes were so random from anyting to checking a menu, to sprinting, to useing skills like vamp mist.. At first I thought it was cloud combat, then a couple add-ons later it stopped with FTC, I can't confirm it is completely stopped, but I haven't had one in a day or two, compared to ever 15 mins or so of crashing while I was getting my "Escape Artist" achieves.

    3/7 was the day I updated all add-ons Since their last update was 3/4 I would have the latest update.

    @Sneak_Thief , yeah, just put skills in the secondary bar, even if you duplicate the first. It's something FTC doesn't handle well yet, and may be causing problems on the backend leading up to a system crash.

    You figure addons intercept a lot of things in game in order to function.

    Add your skills and see what that does for you.

    I don't know about dharbert, but I've been playing since early beta, including long term closed beta, and whenever I got an error message it always followed either being kicked to login or a full crash.

    I get that error message 4 times a day even after increasing the allocated memory and always (of course) when I'm fighting and even if I disable no-essential addons... :'(
