Doors when NPC decids to attack you.

For the sake of immersion, i think that doors should always be accessible. For example this tief i have, he likes to sneak in buildings and steal stuff, sometimes pickpocket and at times, he gets attacked by NPC after failed burglary attempt.

This one is not murderer, if got caught, he always wants to run. Right now i just let that NPC kill me instead of doing anything, that way at least, i can escape with wayshrine or soulgem after i am killed.

Please, let us open doors while someone is attacking us.

    I agree. But make it interesting so guard waits outside or the NPC follows you outside.
    I would prefer if NPC follows you outside and shouts guards for help. Then guards chase you too if you dont get away in time or in right direction..

    I'd prefer to have all NPCs be able to go through doors, but that seems like a bit of a coding nightmare compared to keeping you trapped there.

    Well, there is usually a way to get them off you in many buildings, just gotta use your surroundings. Try and get as much distance as possible and then back to the door then you can open it ^^

    Most homes are pretty small, cant get far enough to escape their attention..

    I think one possibility could also be NPC yield, that however, should only work on normal townsfolk and generally good/Neutral NPC's, not to those who are "Attack on sight" mode.

    Perphaps when NPC is at 1 health, they open a chat window where they yeild to you. You would have choice to either accept or finish the job, no babalities though ;)

    You just need a few seconds respite to use the door. Try a cc that lasts a long time, or just run around and jump off balconies if it's a larger building.

    No, we really dont need chep workarounds, we need doors that open in any case and NPC's that caöö for guards outside..

    ^^ This, So much this. Not being able to open doors destroys the immersion. Apparently somehow my character is incapable of pushing or pulling open a simple door after someone gets angry with him. :'(

    I suggested allowing access to doors during PTS. Basically, if you just stole a trinket from a chest and got caught, you either have to suicide or become a murderer. There is little window for escape.

    ya I have gotten lucky a few times and just let them beat on me while trying to constantly hide and using invis. pots to get away. Not how it should be though.

    I've found myself cowering in front of an unavailable closed door more than once, blocking incoming blows, frantically looking for some option, ANY option that doesn't involve killing the NPC I've already wronged.

    With tears in his eyes my character swings his mace and blade. The NPC falls to the ground and my character wails "This one is sorry!!!!" as he beats his mace into the lifeless lump of meat.

    So yea. Doors for escape would be awesome.
    What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

    Had an NPC beat himself to death on my shield the other day. Really not even sure what I did to cause him to attack me. But there he was in no armor, punching a fully armored advesary. Didnt want to hurt him so just block and heal while trying to get through a door and get away.

    Who would have thought doors would be more difficult to escape from than Molag Bal

    The door SHOULD be available IF the attacking NPC can follow you through it and kill you on the other side.

    If not, leave it as it is.

    A door should not be a magic escape portal

    I remember getting caught once and ran to a door, the door opened and I got the loading screen...only to be met to be inside the building still with the guard 1 shotting me lol..

    If they add an option to PAY the NPC (non guard) who you have robbed/pick pocketed etc to pay for your mistake instead of killing them.

    Or if they run away when they get to 10% health or something else, so you don't have to kill them, that would be cool. But using a door to escape a guard would not be cool.

    Yhis one feels you. **'***-*** has been in similar situation. This one has learned some mysticism to use gems to rewturn from dead.. But dying hursts and this one would not want to die every time he gets caught picking some lost item from someones pocket to return it to rightful owner.

    Who cares about NPCs that stupid enough to attack a veteran character? I've died the other day cause there were 2 immortal guards inside the building and the only thing I could do is sit back and watch next to the door while they kill me.

    I didn't even steal anything just was checking if the nearby safebox was still operational. As a member of the Fighters Guild I thought it was my duty to do so. When I got questioned by the passing guard and he asked for a bribe, I just turned him down as I'd done nothing wrong. So he attacked me and called for reinforcements. Clearly I'm a victim of police brutality.

    Guess I'll go back to the Undaunted. At least those drunken hippies have no concern about private property.

    When you take in account the fact, that t5hose everyday townsfolk NPC's have no chance killing or even hurting you wiuth their fists unless you wait an extraordinary long and painful time for it...

    Doors should always be something you can open, a door without any magick involved, can only be locked in what case you should be able to pick the lock or force the door.

    Door is a door like in real life, if locked, they can be unlocked and if not locked.. Well doors usually open when not locked :)

    The current situation is, that every NPC that attacks you also knows magick to close the door, permanently until either one is dead.

    This really is a deal breaker for the whole system. If you get caught inside with a guard you either pay your bounty and lose your ill gotten gains or get killed and lose your ill gotten gains. At the very best you may get a lucky chance to sneak into a corner and log out until your bounty is gone! What the ***? How do doors suddenly become glued shut? It's worse than the "I've killed the only witness who has magically used mental telepathy to the nearest "God Slayer" guard, with my exact description, in less than a second"!?

    I agree, this is getting f'ing annoying, it breaks any sense of immersion; I can kill Molag Bal but when I am given the option to flee a guard I cannot open an f'ing door.

    Open windows...something...If you're willing to break your ankle to escape, you should have the option.

    Then again, flying out of a 2nd/3rd story opening should draw attention of even more guards, while your partial snare (fall damage) wears off.

    It would be interesting if you could truly hide and they would search for you, turning up the heat based on what you did and how long you remained at-large.

    Disguises could come into play, etc...but considering they can somehow mark a cabbage in the wilderness by an abandoned shack and know that it was not my cabbage, not sure how that would play out...
    Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

    just use an invisibility potion, and get distance from them, the guard or NPC will reset and then you can access the door..trust me, and use a little forethought before just willy nilly stealing in a building, like putting retreating manuever on your bar to get immunity from snares or making sure you fenced your stolen items or dont have a bounty on yourself...

    ps- my main has only killed 2 people "innocents" in the game and I like it that way, also i've only been accosted by a guard once and I have stolen atleast 175k worth of fenced items
