Will we get a free skill respec on 17th?

Who said "want"? The OP asked are we getting one? Maybe the OP doesn't "want" one, but maybe we'll end up getting one due to a patch. No harm in asking, is there?

Nothing important happens to the game's mechanics on March 17th, so I see no reason to think there will be.

Man, could I ever see regret coming in a lot of ways. There would be tons of threads of people who said they made a mistake and want to change back. Grass is always greener on the other side.

I sure as heck do NOT want another mandatory respec (redistributing all those points across 8 characters is a PITA), but I am one of the people that think that respecs should have been free (or virtually free) for the week or two following the update.

They've done the "2 weeks of cheap respecs" in the past, so I really don't know why they didn't choose to do that this time, especially since the changes to skills were more drastic and all-encompassing this time than in any previous update.

EQ2 has a player-made mirror that can store your AA setup. (AA is a PITA to re-do as well)

Just wondering if such a thing could be implemented in ESO. You store your current skill set in something (a Daedric magic mirror, there you go) and post-patch right-click said object and your skill set is restored.

I don't know if there's an addon that has this functionality already.

I highly doubt it. 3/17 isn't introducing any changes to gameplay mechanics.

I'd assume the focus for March 17th will be to ensure the game is a seamless joyful experience so new & returning players are impressed by the bug free, well balanced world of Tamriel and stay for the long haul...

With a lot (?) of new players / returning players coming around 17th March, I think two weeks of cheaper respecs would be nice. It would also give people the opportunity to change anything they screwed up after the Update 6 free (forced) respec.
