Ok so this is a "Jousting Lance"

See where his hand is... that's the grip. All the "Spear" animations are obviously based off a "Lance"

but in ESO where you hold it is backwards. IMO it looks weird... BTW the charge bug is driving me nuts (~_~)

    Its a javelin not a spear big difference and definitely not a jousting lance. and it looks like a roman javelin.

    Yaaaaa... clearly not based on a jousting lance. A lance is a lance not a spear (I mean obviously it's a spear like weapon but nobody calls a lance a spear) not the jousting type of lances anyway; a more basic lance from the Roman or Iberian origins was actually more of a javelin type of weapon thrown by centurians/infantry rather than a mounted weapon. A javelin on the other hand is a spear that you throw... like in the animations.

    Yeah, I don't think it looks like a Pilum, and if they wanted to make it a "spear" why not just have the shaft be the same diameter?
