Light armor Prodigy passive is bugged

"While wearing a full set of light armor." Tried wearing 7/7 light and a full 5 piece set bonus of light armor and the Prodigy passive does not show under active effects like Concentration does. This description is pretty vague and doesn't clarify if one should wear 7/7 or a 5 piece set.

Either way it doesn't work and is probably the reason everyone is only critting for 15-25% when their character screen is showing 30-40%

I recently installed a combat log add-on and I can confirm that over several thousand hits with 20% crit listed on my character sheet my actual crit % average is ~10% on every skill that can crit.

Sorc wearing 7/7 light armor at all times.

Also please make lightning destro staff heavy attack channel able to crit already!

They fixed Concentration recently which I didn't know was broken. I hope the same fix took care of Prodigy.

You really should switch to a flame staff. The lightning one does low dps, does not weave right, and does not crit on the first two pulses of a heavy attack. I know your thinking sorc disintegrate passive but it is not even close to making up the difference.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

The reason I use lightning staff atm, is because with lightning wall it sets the target off balance for an exploit, and then a heavy attack gets +40% dmg and the last tick knocks down, then add +20% as splash aoe. Exploit knockdown is also off the cc dr so you just chain kd mobs, while melting them. Plus concussion which reduces damage mobs deal. And disintigrate  of course. Oh and it restores magika!

With ward and surge it's basically a tanky, high sustain, solo build that works for clearing anything in the VR zones.

A "full set of armor" is always 5 pieces as far as I know.

What's confusing is how for example the Concentration passive is worded:

"When a light armor set of 5 or more pieces is equipped"

...which says exactly the same thing as "With a full set of light armor equipped"

But this sounds like a bug maybe.

You need a large sample size to be certain.

@Niminion you did not state which addon you were using. The addons that I'm aware of do not give you an overall critrate over hundreds of kills, which is what would be required to make a definitive conclusion. I have also noticed that CLS will occasionally miss some crits.

This is not something you can eyeball or speculate about. A real test has to be conducted.

While googling this during a respec, I came across this post and decided I'd spend a point and closely monitor things. Here's my findings/observations:

Preface: I am equipped with Light Armor in all slots, with 4 pieces being Seducer and 3 pieces being Death Wind (my weapons make up the rest of the Seducer set). I am a VR2 Orcish Templar with 35 points in Magicka and 15 in Health.

1.) I have no idea why it grants (in my case) 790 Spell Critical, when your character screen measures it in Percent, not Points.

2.) Adding 1 point boosted my Spell Critical from 10% to 15%.

3.) I removed my Hat (Seducer), losing the set bonus, but retaining the 15% Spell Critical.

4.) I removed my Hat, Shoulders, and Gloves (All Seducer), and dropped back down to 10% Spell Critical. I was wearing 4 pieces of Light Armor at that point.

5.) I put all my set armor back on, confirmed I was back to 15% Spell Critical, then put on a pair of Medium Armor boots that were in my inventory. My Spell Critical remained at 15%.

6.) I added a second point to Prodigy, boosting Spell Critical (by 1580) to 20%.

7.) I confirmed that the above remained consistent with Prodigy II.

8.) I stripped naked and put on 5 random pieces of non-set Light armor from my inventory. Spell Critical was still 20%.

RESULT: Prodigy is erroneously described as "When wearing a full set" when it should be described as "When wearing 5 pieces of Light Armor or more." You do NOT need 7 pieces of Light Armor to gain Prodigy's bonus, and you do NOT need to be wearing a completed set (or indeed any pieces of a set) to gain Prodigy's bonus. You can mix-and-match pieces, and as long as you have 5 Light Armor pieces on you will retain the bonus.

Yes, Lightning Staff is severely underrated, especially because most people don't know about the Concussion effect. I tested on many different mobs, I get 15% incoming damage reduction on average when using Lightning Staff for AOE. That's huge! It's like you got a 9000 point armor buff for FREE.

    Can confirm.

I'd been avoiding prodigy because I'm running 5 Light with 2 Medium and thought I needed 7 Light to get the Prodigy bonus.

Just put 2 skill points in Prodigy and my spell critical jumped 10%.

    Neato. :)

Agreed, just a tool tip defect. Full set is too confusing.
