Heavy Armor 4/4 armor and spell resist

Medium armor 3/4 armor and spell resist

Light Armor 1/4 armor and spell resist

Too keep it short light armor is way to squishy, medium armor is to tanky. My solition to balance this by making mesium armor: 3/4 armor and 1/4 spell resist.
Making light armor 3/4 spell resistance and 1/4 armor. Let me know what you think on this idea, or if you have a better idea lmk.

It doesn't work that way. The way Zenimax currently has it set up, armor = spell resist. They are one and the same. You can't have 3/4 armor and 1/4 spell resist.

@dharbert That is not how it works. The stats are not connected at all. The armor merely awards a 1 to 1 ratio for each but could easily be changed to award a different ratio. For example, using 3 piece footmans is different than using 4 piece footmans. Just because you gain armor does not mean you get spell resistance.

More crying about not being able to infa tank in light armor ? The point of light armor is to boost your magical DPS skills and most of them you are able to cast at a range. If you wear a bathrobe while on the front lines expecting to live through 3 diffrent enemies attacking you are gonna have a very bad time. Also the point of medium is to have 50/50 on armor and spell res and to boost your physical DPS there meant to be on the front lines but able to doge the 3 enemies and of course heavy armor is meant to take those 3 enemies head on and laugh as there blades break and there fire balls wither when they strike there chest plate. So please enough crying about light armor being light armor and heavy armor being heavy armor.

its fine how it is. Only suggestion i would have is to make med armour 2/3 instead of 3/4. That would make it a tiny bit better imp.
Banned for Naming and Shaming exploiters. Great ideology ZOS.

Someone needs to read the patch notes....
Spell Resistance: Instead of having a base amount of Spell Resistance that grows as you level, Spell Resistance is now provided by Armor on a 1 to 1 basis.

For example, if a piece of gear gives you 2000 Armor, it also gives 2000 Spell Resistance.

Spell resistance increases with armor. Every piece of armor you add also increases your spell resistance. The damage mitigation between armor types is what is different.

@dharbert What I am saying is not in regards to the armor amount listed on the piece of equipment but the actual armor and spell resistance values.

For instance, with 2 pieces of footmans on I do not get the three piece 1800 armor bonus as shown here:

    yfO5Fi4.png

Then when I add a third piece of footmans I gain 1800 armor, but not spell resistance shown here:

    YwULKmQ.png

So you see, adding 1800 armor does not increase my spell resistance by 1800 as well.

I said that the "armor merely awards a 1 to 1 ratio for each" which is true for each piece of equipment. The armor value listed on the piece is added as both armor and spell resistance in a 1 to 1 ratio. However, armor does not strictly equal spell resistance - as you claimed - and the two values may be altered separately.

Most medium armor users are melee and take a lot of damage. They need to be more tanky to stay alive.
