weapon swap sound effect

Every time I perform a weapon swap there is a loud DING or GONG sound effect in addition to the traditional sheathing sound. I just resubscribed after several months and never remember this occuring before. I deleted all add-ons and relaunched the game and the sound persists. It is ANNOYING. How do I disable it?

Nobody? I reinstalled and remains the same...

most likely that is whats his hearing and to the OP, theres nothing you can do about it.

Yeah, that's the sound indicating that your Ultimate ability is ready to use. As of 1.6, the sound goes off when you swap weapons and the Ultimate slotted in the set you swap to is ready.

I find it annoying when you have the same Ultimate slotted in both weapon sets, but for times when you use two different Ultimates (one costing more than the other) it's actually kind of useful.

Either way, we should have an option to turn that sound off... Is there one?

Thank you for helping me understand what the sound is. Now, there has got to be a way to disable this. I've been up and down all the options menus. I refuse to believe that a video game design team would add such a feature without a toggle off/on choice.

While there is no specific option to toggle this off at the moment, the sound does scale with "Interface sound" in the sound options. Scaling that back a bit makes the sound far less bothersome.

Looks like i'm going to have to learn how to create an add-on to resolve this problem. Though i'll probably just give up and quit =/ Can't play with my earballs being *** by this sound.
