VR9 Templar - what helps build Vamp Bat Ultimate in 1.6?

Previously, I could build my ultimate pretty darn quick (vamp bats).
It seems to go a lot slower now.

Any tips on how to quickly build Ultimate?

I am finding with the change I am able to use my Vamp Ultimate the same, if not faster than before.

Basically, use your weapons for damage more than your other skills. That is what is working for me. weapon, skill, weapon, skill, and on and on.

There's really no trick to it anymore. Minus the Major and Minor buff that increase Ultimate gain rate, there's generally only one way to gain ultimate: use a light attack every so often and it regens slowly.

Slower ultimate generation was intentional. It was made this way to nerf builds that relied solely on generation craptons of ultimate extremely quickly, such as most builds revolving around vamp bats.

ok thanks. I use to interweave light attacks in my rotation but i'm pointed heavy into magicka regen and max magicka, so don't need to any more. I'll try re-introducing it into my rotation.

Anyone finding crit particularly helpful in ultimate regen?

OMG! I'm getting 2 Ulitmate for EACH light attack.

You get a buff after doing a light attack that lasts for 8 seconds (if I remember right) this buff gives you 3 ultimate per a second, so you only need to use a light/heavy attack every 8 seconds to accumulate ultimate. Each class also have a passive that affect ultimate gain, also one of low slash morphs provide the minor heroism buff (1 ultimate every second), and the cleave morph for 2 hand provide the ultimate morph. Other then that their is no longer "tricks" to gain ultimate fast, unless you consider the NB's shooting star/soulharvest/killing undead a trick.

sweet. thanks for the additional info. Spammed light staff attacks into a mob and my ultimate zoomed up. Magicka, too, but I knew about that. Not as worried about saving my Ultimate now. Thanks again

when u deal damage to an enemy with a light or heavy attack you get a buff giving 3 ultimate per second for 8 seconds. if u use another light attack before the 8 seconds is up it refreshes the time. so as long as u are doing atleast 1 light attack every 8 seconds u will be gaining max ult (excluding skills that grant ult)

Thanks! It works a treat! I'm very happy with my rotation and just left-clicking my fire staff (with the trait of faster attacks) is great and easy to do. I just shield/bubble myself and squeeze off 5-6 quick bursts. jabby jabby. shield. 5-6 light attacks.

Does switching bars affect the light attack buff for ultimate? My destro staff is on my back bar, so I'd be switching back and forth a bit.
