So now how do I build?

Hi Everyone,

I thought i was having problems before about starting to understand how to build, just minimally, it's like now though it is all different, sheesh. I am not really complaining as I didn't really have a handle on builds anyway.

I started with Conan but didn't really know what I was doing but here I am starting to get a grasp of how to build so I have a question or two.

Seems I really need to get mathematical about dmg, dps, armor protect, potions etc to figure out how to build a certain character nevermind the characters own strong points and weak point. Do I really need to know all the stuff before I create a character or will common sense carry me for the beginning then I can start planning a bit more careful? Should the builds be REALLY different for PVE vs PVP?

What is the best way to try out combos and see what fits best because as I go along I see the demons and such vary?

I have five characters, 2 Templars, One Elf, One Redguard, and on Orc Assassin. I read after I built the Orc assassin that the Khajiiti were the best assassins but I figured what's life without a little irony, even in Tamriel. Everyone but the Orc are in the lower 20 levels and I don't do bad but now I am beginning to get cautious about my skill points.

I appreciate if someone can start helping me with this, thanks.

Common sense will get you nowhere in this game. My NB assassin/spellcaster has to wear heavy armor and carry a big ass sword and shield now.

And yes the builds have to be different.

Yup you're going to have to get your calculator and spreadsheet out too.

    Hey JDar thanks.

I was thinking I needed my calc and spreadsheet, already started the spreadsheet.

I am still trying to figure out how much it will take to kill anything. I only see a enemies health after I wack them. I Have looked but have not found a place which shows what I would need to kill X or am I going about it the wrong way?

With Champion Points you can really make any race/class effective, it will just take time. You can always have gear made that helps with your PVE or PVP. There are a lot of craft able sets for both. Go try the things you enjoy and make note what's working/not working so you can adjust accordingly. If your DPS is low, toss in some gear with weapon damage or + to Crit. If your not getting the regen you want toss in a set that will help with that. There are so many sets in the game it's hard to pick one. Also with being able to have 8-9 items equipped you can use a combo of two different sets + jewelry to get the results you like the best. The site below is really helpful in seeing what craft able sets there are out there. With lower levels they can only be made for even levels but if you make them in a blue set they can easily last you 5-10 levels.

    Thanks Robbmrp,

I have started to play with sets and I like your idea of dual sets I have one character that does that.

Unfortunately Champion points don't come in till level 50, I have also noticed a lot of people talk about builds at the higher levels I am more interested in lower level builds, we all fight and we all want to kicka___

I appreciate your ideas there are so much sometimes I forget some of the stuff you have mentioned, thanks again.
