Spending Champion Points pre-50 seems just wrong to me

I was amazed to discover last night that I can spend points even on a level 3. It is INTENDED?

Seems to me leveling an alt with 70 CPs (or in my case 64) is simply going to be hugely unbalanced and will trivialise leveling. Of course, I realise that you don 't HAVE to spend them but the reality is any time you want to do group content the hive-mind of the min/maxers comes in and you're TOLD how to play if you want the privilege of running group content.

I never picked-up pre-1.6 going live that CPs were usable before VR1, where the power discrepancy between having 0 or 70 was nothing like as large in comparison with the base-level of the mobs than it is pre-VR mob buffs.

If this is really WAI what am I missing here?

I have never met any elitists in pre-50 content. Nobody even asked me about my armor or stats. I'm tank-specced, but I've successfully ran dungeons as a damage dealer while having more health than our actual tank. Optimization really isn't necessary at low levels and you certainly don't need the CP boost to succeed. So if you don't like it, don't use it. You will meet plenty of new or returning players who don't have a lot of CP simply because they don't have a maxed veteran yet.

I've seen it a few times with builds such as a bow-using NB (not suffered myself, a Templar Healer rarely gets the third-degree).

My concern is the comment Eric made if the 'live', and comments I've see posted, that 1.6 added noticeable armour and resists to mobs so clearly PCs will need more damage/penetration to deal with that, which of course is what CPs are in good part for.

Am I not right in thinking all mobs are harder post-1.6 because of this?

5%, 10% increase of 0 = 0. It's not going to unbalance the game. This has been said over and over already.

Restoration is a perfectly valid school of magic, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! - Spells and incantations for those with the talent to cast them!

I've heard rumours that even though you spend champ points on your low lvl alt, that you earned on your main.
The effect doesn't kick inn until your alt hits lvl 50.
Can anyone confirm if this is correct???

CP is ONLY gained/earned as a veteran rank player.

But, you can use/spend your CP's that you've acquired on your Non-Vet rank toons. Since CP's are account wide and every toon gets a piece of the pie.

I'm sure mileage will vary by player, but here is my personal anecdote:

I have a VR14, a VR10, a VR2 and three VR1s. The three VR1s I have were levelled knowing the champion system was coming, so I quested them until the moment I got to VR1 (somewhere in Coldharbor) and then stopped. I started playing one of them again.

I allotted my skill points and made new armor based on my limited experience in PTS. I did not allot my character points or my champion points. I proceeded to do a little questing in Coldharbor, and I'm decimating anything I come near. I haven't tried soloing WBs yet (which I could do in 1.5), but so far the game actually seems easier to me, without allocating the champion points or even my character points.

Again, other people's mileage my vary, and there is the potential I could change my tune when I get to Cadwell's silver.

They should let you spend 1/2 pre-50 or 10% per 10 levels, perhaps. Roll over to VR1, spend the rest.

Would allow some benefit for lower level characters, without making them automatically OP.
