Game Stop Responding Issue

After 1.6 hit live servers I have an odd bug - game rendomly freezes. I can still hear music, but nothing happens on my screen and no additional effects. I didn't played to much to learn about this bug too much. I only had two short play sessions since patch and both time I get this freeze stuck. Also, game doesn't crush and I don't get kicked for spamming messages to server or for loosing connection with server. The only option is to kill process and re-launch the game. What it could be? Anyone else have this issue? Should I create ticket to Customer Support?

Same here.. But Sometimes it runs fine, but in the afterwork hours it keeps crashing more and more.

My first post, hello, to confirm that I'm also experiencing random freezes since updating.
Never had the game freeze on me before.
I got an Error 209 on restarting the game and am doing a 'Repair' now..

I also get this same issue. Freezes, but I still hear music and noises.
I have to manually stop the game.

Same here random game freeze and have had two Blue Screens Of Death since 1.6 while playing. I know it is not my system did a complete system diag and everything checked out and all drives are up to date. Prior to 1.6 no problems at all except random freezes while in Cyrodiil during peak times. It will be interesting to see if ZOS addresses this issue which is most likely a problem on their end.

Yes i have also seen this issue (as described above), three times since 1.6 (new bug). Seems very rare, but rather annoying. Game does not actually crash out, just frozen, with music playing. For me, it seemed to happen mostly when in a skills view panel? I have put in a bug report, but didn't record the number. Recommend everyone who sees this put in a bug report.

Submit a ticket. I am experiencing freezes too. I have to restart the PC to be able to re launch the game. It is the 1st time I experience this bug. No response from support yet.

EDIT:
It seems that changing your UserSettings.txt (Found in C:\Users\yourname\Elder Scrolls Online\live) to render with OpenGL will fix the issue, however I noticed an extreme drop (nearly 30) in FPS.

Look for the line that says "SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D11" and change it to "OPENGL"

I think I'm having the same issue.

At any random interval ESO will:

• Self-minimize while remaining fullscreen (ie, it will act like i've alt+tabbed to desktop, but desktop will be non-interactable, while still displaying ESO's cursor.) I can still hear ESO's sound while this is happening. I have to Ctrl+Shift+Esc to task manager and use the keyboard to end ESO.exe

or

• Completely black screen, no cursor, sometimes I can hear sound, sometimes not. I have to ctrl+alt+delete and log off to fix this one.

I have run the repair tool twice to no avail.
I have made no hardware or software changes since 1.6, and this problem didnt exist prior.
As far as I can tell there are no known or noticable catalysts for this behavior.
There is never an ESO error dialog box.

I've got an ASUS gaming laptop with Windows 8.1.

first time this has happened.

Edit: to resolve, I had to reboot my computer as it was completely unresponsive.

I'm having the same issue. Game freezes completely, sound still playing, have to completely restart as I can't even get Task Manager to come up to kill the game so I can relaunch. It happens very frequently, at least 5-6 times in a three hour play time window, and most of the time more than that.

Very frustrating. I'm hoping that support finds a fix soon.

Same here for me too and for 3-4 weeks now. Game freezes and black screens with music playing in the background several times per night and almost all the time while in the inventory or character window. This only happens in this game and nowhere else. I've tried all the suggestions in the trouble shooting post above, but nothing worked so far.

When this happens, I have to Ctr Alt Del out of the game and get the ESO crash report window. I have to restart my pc because when I try to restart the game, it will give me another black screen that totally locks my computer and I have to reset. That's bad! I'm using the ESO.exe as Administrator since using the launcher is even worse. I don't know what else to do
