Xp gains

The grind was bad enough why would you nerf xp further? Was the player base asking for this? Who's brilliant idea was this?

Life is a give and take... They give us a great patch. They take away XP (some grinding locations).

Like I said, why did they nerf it was it hurting something? Your just upsetting people by nerfing something that want hurting anything. If anything the grind should be reduced.

I just returned in the last couple months and have been having a blast, but I think once again my time may be up and look to move on. I don't need another job.

Grind will be reduced via xp boost potions. If they give too much xp people will be less likely to buy them.

i pvped for 5 hours yesterday and got just over half way to my first champion point, lol. pvp xp needs to be increased. i dont zerg and i shouldnt be punished because i dont zerg. solo and small group pvp should be comparable xp gains to zerging and pve questing. in fact all thinks should be comparable with each other, do what you love to do i say.

Welcome to an MMO game. Developers create hurdles to keep people playing. Also please don't talk about grinding unless you played the original Everquest.
"And it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days. The fact that the word "monetized" exists points to the heart of the issue for us: We don't want the player to worry about which parts of the game to pay for - with our system, they get it all."

I don't think he was complaining so much about the grind but about the nerf to xp. Meaning: that if someone is playing catch up, they might as well not play any more because they can't catch up with all the nerfs to xp.

Played the original eq, swg Jedi grind and original darkfall. I'm not new to the grind. But I'm older and less willing to dedicate that much time to it.

This guy gets it. The grind wasn't horrible. Unless you only want to pvp like me, but that's another topic. But why nerf xp further?

Unless there is a secret grind location in Craglorn which has not been nerfed, the best place for XP is Cyrodiil.

Yesterday I earned 1 unenlightened CP from the following:

-- Clearing one of the smaller delves in Craglorn without a quest
-- Clearing Shada's Tear in Craglorn and completing the quest
-- Completing three top tier crafting writs
-- Completing all of the daily PVE quests in two of the Cyrodiil quest hubs
-- Completing three Fighters Guild bounty quests in Cyrodiil
-- Playing three hours of PVP which included three player kill quests, numerous player kills, one resource quest, several resource captures, one outpost capture, three keep captures and a few keep defenses
-- Opening a small handful of locks for the Legerdemain skill line

All of this resulted in a little over 400K XP for the evening and one new CP for The Thief. If enlightenment kicks in after the first 24 hours since my initial login, the next CP for The Mage should go much, much faster.

I earned more XP from regular PVP in Cyrodiil compared to the same amount of time I spent in the two Craglorn delves. I will not rely on Craglorn for XP going forward.

pvped for 5 hours yesterday solo/small group. killed about 300 people (had to relog alot cause of crashes every other hour), and only got just over half a champion point. i am a pretty decent force to be reckoned with in cyrodiil but this xp gain is just terrible. i dont want to play in a zerg lagfest to get xp, i dont want to grind pve to get xp. so if this keeps up i will have to play a way i dont want to and probably quit shortly after if the disparity becomes to great and i cannot compete on an close to even level.

Well, players are not supposed to get 3600 CPs any time soon. I just hope that at some point, (IMO for the good of the game) that the grind gets easier. We (the game community) need new players. And if a new player has to play the same amount of time, (let's say it takes 1 hour per 100,000 exp) that means it will take a new player 14,400 hours to catch up. That's 600 days of playing 24 hours a day. If new players don't join + old players burning out and leaving = dead game Jim!

Doing Cadwell's gold quests, I would get 5000-15,000 cxp per. So one CP is roughly between 30-50 quest completions. Doing a grind spot in a vr10 zone netted me around 50,000 cxp an hour. Enlightenment would add a multiplier of 4x to cxp gains which I believe the devs translated into 1 hour of play time to reach 1cp. Enlightenment is awarded each day with 400,000 worth of credit up to 3 days if unused for a 1,200,000 max pool. It seems to me enlightenment is in effect a way to keep everyone at the same CP level as long as you play around 1-3 hours of game time, 3 days a week. You can still try and get 2 cp a day but it would literally take a entire day of playing to achieve.

I don't know if anyone has done the math. But let's say you have your 70 CPs. That leaves 3530 CP, you can still get. If it takes 4 hours to gain 1 CP, that's 14,120 hours to max CPs. Let's say the average gamer spends 4 hours a day playing. It will take them 9 and a half YEARS to max CPs.

One of my buddies got 15 CP yesterday. No I will not tell you how (he also won't tell me given the history of grind nerfing). It has begun, the endless grind to be the unconquerable, unkillable, all walking, all talking, emperor slaying, immortal son of a deadric lord.

Level caps exist in MMO's for a reason. You will see in about 6 months. Might as well just have in the death recap you died to 600 champion points.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

    6 million XP's in < 24hrs, huh?

Have him screenshot his XP's using the script (no name required) or I'm guessing it never happened.

You just said the whole problem with this new system ^^

Introduce a new way to gain character progression, nerf the ways of getting experience for the new character progression, play the way you don't really want to stay competitive in the new character progression, realize how much time it will take and that you can never keep up with people who play 24/7 making the pvp competitiveness gap between players wider and wider over time.

Wait for them to put experience potions in the crown store.

    Leave the game.

Focus is all on crown store and consoles.
