Need Templar build help for PvE

Need help with a templar build for lvling. Would like to stay heavy armor/1h+shield. Will change if I have too. Right now on my 1h+shield bar is Reflective Light-Shield Charge-Pierce Armor-Puncturing Sweep-Breath of life=Nova. Still a lower lvl. Tried soloing a public dungeon boss and got murdered 3 times lol. Then a NB the same lvl as me comes in and downs it his first try. So apparently something is wrong with my build. I have green armor for my lvl with magicka enchants(not sure if its right). Still new to the game, not sure what to do lol. I tried that whole "play the way you like" thing and it's getting me killed/mad. So I would like to find a build and just go with it instead. Any advice would be awesome

You can try playing with something like the two-headed lovechild of the first (sword and board) bar from these builds:

Also consider whether or not you are giving enough attention to defense - like maybe adding Immovable or Defensive Posture to your rotation (Templar Sun Shield is also a good choice if you are not magicka poor).

Ill give you the build I used to level "don't know how good it is now after 1.6", I was able to solo just about everything and take down large groups.

5x Heavy Armor, 1x Medium Armor, and 1x Light Armor. "5x Willows Path/ 4x Seducer"
Bar one Sword and Board, Bar two your choice.

    Bar One abilities.
Pierce Armor: Good Stam attack that reduces spell resistance.
Shield Assault: Used to close distance with enemy. Damage shield is good for AOE groups.
Deep Slash: AOE Stam attack, hits up to three targets and reduces their damage down by 15%.
Puncturing Sweep: Primary Magic attack, great AOE Cone damage with a 40% damage done heal.
Blazing Shield: Defensive shield that reflects damage back. This combined with Puncturing Sweep allowed me to stay alive through the hardest fights. Though make sure to throw in some of your Stam attacks so you don't run out of magic and remember Pierce Armor will make Blazing Shield and Puncturing Sweep do more damage.

Ultimate: Solar Disturbance: Great AOE damage ability.

    Bar Two abilities.
Breath of Life: Switch bars and throw yourself a heal when needed.
Repentance: Allows for little to no downtime between fights. Also great for heal/stam in the middle of a fight after you have downed some.
Blazing Spear: I will throw this into a group of mobs, switch bars and charge in. If done right you should arrive right after the spear hits the ground. Stuns one target and AOE damage to others.

The last two ability's were often switched depending on the upcoming fight. Evil hunter, Silver Shards, Restoring Focus, Purifying Ritual, Unstoppable exc.
