So I've always been torn about which race I want to play as my default, quintessential mage character. My go-to default character I have in all the games that I play. There are qualities I both love and really dislike about both the Breton and the Altmer racial features, both appearance-wise, bonus-wise and just in general. But combined I think they would create the perfectly balanced race I had in mind to play. I know this is a bit of a stretch and unlikely to ever happen, but I really imagine many people would appreciate such a feature where you could be a cross between two different races. There are already the full spectrum of races playing on each faction, so why shouldn't there be such an option. It could be an achieved bonus or perk bought through the crown store, I'd definitely be willing to dish out whatever efforts or money it would take to have such a bonus.
To me it seems logical and the customizations would be endless and fun. (And I'd also get to create my perfect cross-race sorcerer ^.^). I don't know if humans and Mer could be cross bred with Argonians or Khajiit , but I think it'd be a pretty fine site to see such characters roaming around the server!
I know most people's arguments would be to focus on the game mechanics right now and save these kind of 'fluff' ideas until a later time (to which I also get when bringing up my need for the game to start implementing character appearance alterations and name change options) but to that I say simply, bah!
What are your takes?

Xjcon✭✭✭✭✭When you read the description of the racial bonuses they don't clearly show what they mean. I rolled Orc DK thinking the bonus to the heavy armor would work well as a tank. That bonus is simply to level heavy armor slightly faster. Later in the game when I figured out what the better races were I was stuck with this race and very little ambition to reroll another race (I have a level 7 Dark Elf DK).
I and many others would pay a fee to change the race of these characters simply because i don't want to go back through all the areas to aquire all the things i currently have.Briza Do'urdenx V16 Dunmer DK

They are. The offspring can inherit minor traits of the father - unusual eye color, affinity for a particular skill, things like that. ✭It's quite possible for "Mixed Races" to be in TESO, but, they would look exactly the same. Because the offspring is the Mother's Race, taking some traits from the Father, so let's say a black haired green eyed Nord knocked up a blonde Altmer chick with golden eyes, the child would be an Altmer, but could have black hair and green eyes, as well as some other physical traits of the father, such as the Nords' cold resist.

I may get flack for this, but I've always hated that part of the lore. I think it's super limiting and contributes nothing to TES. Plus afaik Notes on Racial Phylogeny is the only source that claims this.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭Personally I'd just say, make your character one race, but tweak the appereance to the other races end of the spectrum. Though it would be neat to have more options then what chargen gives... well, maybe with barbershop once that comes...
Allowing people to mix racial boni opens the door for some annoying stat combinations... (you know which kind of people would lust for the option to pick and choose...) and likely be too much trouble for the developers to code regardless.1 -
