Spamming abilities anywhere there is a population gathered, such as in Rawl'kha.

This is a total miss use of your char abilities and a BIG pain for most all in the area.

This to me is the main reason for no dueling anywhere. In any game that dueling is aloud you have the same constant spamming of abilities.

Thing is, there isn't any dueling just peeps that like to spam, I would push for account ban or some such penalty to the account that has a player

doing this in a crowd.

There needs to be a stop to this asap :)

Well with tomorrow's patch, most npc becomes targetable and killable. So spamming abilities in populated area will equal to a quick smash in the face by the guards and a swift repair bills.

I don't think a ban for using in-game stuff is needed.

Why should I or anyone else have to turn our particles down to 0 and not enjoy the game as it's meant to be enjoyed because someone wants to be a menace and spam spells in crowds?

I for one am looking forward to watching the guards take the spell spammers down.

There is a toggle for this in the settings. You can choose to turn off damage to NPC's to avoid "accidentally" attacking them.

What they need to do is disable all magical effects, summons, and pets inside of banks, crafting areas and other public indoor places that have kiosks that players use.

I can't wait. As much as I have mixed emotions on the Murder side of the JS, the fact that the spell spammers will be, well, spammed with guard violence just pleases me.

Now, if we can only get the guards to kill the Sorcer Pets then it will be nice.

Awesome but since they will no longer be able to generate ultimate points by casting spells out of combat, there is no reason for this behavior and they will be considered griefers. Then we're back to the OP's suggestion, which is reporting and banning them for griefing.

Edit: I am not saying I personally want to see half the population of Rawl'kha banned but come on, it's like a pack of annoying little kids running up the store aisles with light sabers and laser toys desperate to get mummy's attention. It gets old and makes it hard to see the screen.

Dude. Should people that have sensitivity to this really be playing a game with all the flashes around? I went first person just for a bit the other day because I saw the heavy charge on a lightning staff was bright, and it damn near is blinding in first person view. If I spam light attacks with it, I have to imagine that would be very bad for an epileptic person.

That said; maybe the best reason to have restoring aura come 1.6 will be spamming it as I run through town so the sounds it makes on other people as I run buy make me feel like I am the Flash just zipping around. Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.

It's never bothered me. I can see how it might be annoying to others, I guess. But personally, I don't think there should be any repercussions and certainly not anyone being banned. To me, I equate it to the guy whistling obnoxiously on the train: it's annoying, but I'm not going to rise to righteous anger about it. That's just where I stand.

There are always jerks/griefers in every MMORPG. They are the ones making life miserable for others in towns (where we already suffer from lag); they are the ones who send you a guild invitation in the blind the moment they see you; they are the ones who send you a request to group when you are one millisecond from completing killing a boss because they want to get credit, too.

Blame their mothers. The discourteous, inconsiderate, self-serving xxxx's weren't raised right.

Lowest value on the Maximum Particle System is 768.
Lowest value on the Particle Suppression Distance is 35.

Do not personally take any issue with players casting skills in towns though. On the list of things to stress out over in this game, it is among the lowest.

@Xjcon and @technohic everyone is susceptible to flashing lights, they even have less/non-lethal weapons and "personal defense" flashlights geared for this. florescent lighting for example, has an extremely high likely hood to trigger a migraine for me, due to the light bulbs refresh rate (not just brightness). the difference is the magnitude to which the individual is effected. people with light susceptibility may not even be aware of the effects- not all seizures manifest themselves in a dramatic fashion, some even being just an experience of "lost time". the people that have severe repercussions from flashing lights due to epilepsy shouldn't play these games and possibly watch much TV, those that have light repercussions don't particularly need to worry about them (if it is even noticed), as the effects are more of an annoyance than a risk.

but like i said, just devils advocate... banning is a bit extreme.

AoE spam won't trigger a fight with guards but you could actually troll the spammers by fighting the guards yourself and pulling them into their AoE spam, they'd pull aggro and profit.

Doesn't impact gameplay or functionality at all, and people do it for fun with each other randomly, not even counting roleplayers but just normal mmo'ers. People doing something they like and you don't isn't griefing, it's called an online game. You have a remedy if you don't want to see spell effects in the options menu already. Asking to inhibit others' enjoyment when no harm is being done is the real griefing, here.
