I am bit confused with these. Poison attacks are mitigated by armor, but are they physical attacks?

1. Precise strikes increase critical damage of physical attacks.
2. Mighty increases physical damage
3. Thaumaturge increases poison, disease and magic damage.
4. Piercing increases amount of armor physical attacks ignore.

If we use lethal arrow as example, which ones affect it? 3. clearly helps and 2. won't, but how about 1 and 4? I presume they do as lethal arrow uses weapon critical.

How is an arrow not physical damage?

It's poison damage. Thaumaturge already gives buff to poison, so would be strange if mighty would buff also the same thing.

@Ommamar , how does poison automatically imply arrow?

Stave with Poison enchant works, as well. So does the undaunted Web skill.

Poison attack is poison attack. While still 'physical" it falls under its own subcategory, like ranged vs melee.

If it explicitly states poison damage, it does not get double duty from physical damage.

Tested which affect poison attacks (lethal arrow) :
    1. NO - Precise strikes increase critical damage of physical attacks.
    2. NO - Mighty increases physical damage
    3. YES - Thaumaturge increases poison, disease and magic damage.
    4. YES - Piercing increases amount of armor physical attacks ignore (poison is vs armor, not spell resistance).

I was surprised about precise strikes. Now there no critical hit increase for poison in CP.

Damage in general and what mitigates it/what category it falls in is about as intuitive as a bowling ball with no holes.

    Always has been.

Regarding #1, did the other individual have CLS or something similar? Did any Crit Poison attacks ever register? Is there a chance you simply did not produce any for the particular testing time frame?

I got PVE testing ground in Rift. Sneak lethal arrow or heavy attacks so it always crits.

Everything else went like expected, but precise strikes didn't make any effect of lethal arrows. Worked ok with heavy attack though.
