Healing taken?

On some item set bonuses you often read something like healing taken increased by some percentage. But some like Twilights Embrace 5 set bonus says increased healing received. I want to know if healing taken and healing received are the same and if so why not just have it called healing received on all tool tips to prevent comfusion. The other thing coming to mind is if healing taken means something else needs to happen like a particular ability stealing life. Someone help me this figure out.
