Question for the Devs: What kind of cadence can we expect?

For the release of new items to the Crown Store?

Also has there been any release-able intel on how often DLC's will be dropping?

I may be going out on a limb with my speculation, but if I'm correct, don't post in this thread, k? Awesome. If not, blink twice, k?

So since QuakeCon, the dev teams have been hard at work on new goodies and new areas for us to play in. But out of caution, or business sense, those areas and goodies are being saved for AFTER the console release.

They're all ready to go, or close to it but other things took priority and had to be completed and polished before any information or hints of the aforementioned's existence can be released.


That's what I'm thinking, how far off am I?

We're still working out the exact cadence for Crown Store updates, but generally speaking, we'll be adding items once each month. We'll also continue to read your feedback about what you'd like to see, and will publish articles showcasing new items (like this one).

Think all we have so far is Matt Firor recently saying that they plan something like a weekly rotation of new store stuff (or possible discounts?). Don't think they're ready to talk about it yet, considering we don't even know specific conversion rates/prices so far.

A lot of the stuff worked on at Quake Con is almost certainly being held until post-console launch. I had hoped that Quake Con would become their annual "here's what's coming this year", and that we'd be well on the way to seeing it all implemented before Quake Con later this year, where they'd unveil another raft of new, awesome goodies.

BUT, they have said that post-console launch, they're going to let the game "settle" for a while (whatever that means). Which means we're not likely to see regular new content start dropping until a least late Summer. They've also said they won't be keeping up their pre-B2P pace of releasing.

I guess that also means that no significant new additions will be made this year other than what we've already seen, at last year's Quake Con.

Well as far as the conversion rate for cash to crowns, I'm thinking it's going to be something along the lines of $1 = 100 Crowns. Especially if the stipend for a 30 day subscription is 1500 Crowns.

As far as the Crown Bundles go - we'll probably be seeing a $20, $40, $80 and maybe even a $100 option.

Here's hoping the weekly rotation includes some neat looking stuff.

I'm all for cool additions to the store, but there's so much content and functionality we still need in the game aside from pets and baubles.

Exactly, all we can do now is hope they find a nice happy medium between shinies and content.

I wouldn't be surprised if they had 2-4 DLC's completed now. They've got to have something worth buying the Crown Store for actual cash. Hopefully I'm right and we get new content in April. Worst case I hope it's no later than June when the Console comes out. People are going to be really sick of farming the same places over and over again just for CP with no new content.

They've already said there won't be any new content until the console launch settles down. Fall 2015 at the earliest I'd guess.

I agree and disagree with some of these statements.

Firstly, I certainly agree that they have some DLCs completed right now with the Imperial City at the very top of the list. They showcased a largely complete version of it at the Guild Summit back on October 1-2. It was almost certainly going to be included in Update 6. Unfortunately, the B2P/P2W decision was seemingly made shortly thereafter which pushed back the Imperial City as ZOS switched from a mentality that delivered content to subscribers to one who's only objective is to bleed us dry.

It is no coincidence that ZOS has previewed more likely DLC for the cash shop than the sum of the new content they have delivered since March 30 of last year: 1 zone, 3 trials, 2 vet dungeons and Dragonstar Arena. They can't release any new content before March 17 otherwise the consoles would get the content for free as well. Bilking console players is far more important to ZOS than honoring their previous commitments to deliver new content for PC subscribers. I hope people aren't fooled by the upcoming mask and Senche mount as everything else (or rather the lack of content we have received) indicates ZOS has zero regard for its current PC subscribers.

But basically we dont know what and wich size a dlc has to be , maybe the imperial city will not be considered as a Dlc, but like a "something in the middle " selled in the crown store, but not considered a MAJOR update so we can see 1 minor update or maybe 2 or 3 between 2 major dlc release .

So if they are planning to release dlc's after the console release, this is not excluding that we can see something like the imperal city pushed live before june, because in any case even if they have already made the phisic versions (BD) of the game with the 1.6 in , they can still give an incremental pach to the consoles at day 1.

I would love once a month. I'll admit I'm a sucker for fluff items and this would give me something to look forward to.
