Request: Flying Vanity Pets

mandrakethebard_ESO
The basic coding for flying creatures is already in the game. (those crazy little imps come to mind) So, I'd like to request that a flying vanity pet be made available in some fashion. They could be imps, birds, whatever.

Once they give me an option to HIDE\NOT SEE vanity pets and make sure vanity pets NEVER get heals or target of any other spells\buffs.

Then I would vote yes on this.

I would dig an Imp pet. OR a Hawk or falcon, but have the bird type pets land. Otherwise it just looks ridiculous.

I'd give someone else's left arm to be able to have a falcon sit on my toon's forearm, or my monkey pet to climb up my toon and sit on his shoulder.

Ice Wraiths don't fly, they hover. ;)

Seriously, I was talking about something with wings. That sort of thing is something I'd really be interested in. Like an owl, or something of the sort.

I hate vanity pets, but I wouldn't care if someone had a flying one, as long as there was a toggle to show/hide other player's vanity pets, or if they would simply ban them from all banks, crafting areas, and other indoor public buildings. Would be nice if they wouldn't allow summoned pets in banks and crafting areas either.

I want my winged twilight and my scamp to be able to perch/ride on my horse with me. Not the cleanfear morph. That would just look too weird.

Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Generally I am kinda opposed to vanity pets... I'd much rather have a combat pet system similar to the old horse system for added non-sorceror pettyness...

That stated, (and as much as I dislike admitting it) I think there is a valid point to be made for witches with raven familiars, pirates with pet parrots, warlocks with imps following them around and so on...

Love this little guy -- flies off, lands with a rat at your feet after a little bit.

I'd love to get something similar that actually brought back a real dead rat or chicken or some small game, but had like a 30 minute cooldown. -- and would sit on your shoulder of course.

Heck, I'd be happy if it only sat on my shoulder.

    Cliff Racers yes.

I don't understand why people oppose Vanity pets. they already don't work in cyrodill (which is a shame because they gave away stealth people). There is no problem in bank. You still target the bank keeper to talk with him/her. Pets don't prevent this. In dungeons (if they get heals) i understand this. But i don't think vanity pets get heals. I think it is a myth just like people thing generals spawn if you keep all pillons up and do them together.

And Murmulnir... he's hanging out in The Reach. And Vulthuryol... he's just hangin' out in Blackreach. And Nahfahlaar, who was an ally of Wayrest a couple centuries before ESO takes place... And Ahbillok... who does, stuff, I guess? The in game lore's pretty vague on this guy except that he was up and about in the second era.

EDIT: Technically, Durnehviir probably counts as well, but I think we all know what he's up to.

But since you already have to slay these guys in TES 5 I don't think we'll be seeing them. Unless Alduin resurrected them too with the rest and they did die during TESO?

Poor Durnehviir :( I kept forgetting to summon him and I feel bad cuz all he wants is to fly over tamriel one more time

Oh, there's also two in the maybe pile, Naaslaarum and Voslaarum may very well be up and about. It's also possible that Alduin revived them, but given where you encounter them in Skyrim, it seems a little unlikely that Alduin got all the way out there on a whim. One of them could be the Dragon mentioned in Twin Secrets... or they could just be revived by Alduin with a fixation on hiding underwater.

So... yes, there are Dragons loose in the Second Era.

EDIT: Also, since the vestiges aren't dragonborn, they literally have no way to kill any dragon in a permanent way.

I know there is a quest for the ebon heart pack where you obtain a horn that summons a falcon which is cool I use it for my Bosmar archer. But, a flying vanity pet would be cool with the birds, flacon, eagle, raven, bat, etc.
