Would You Like/Use A Toggleable Guild Tag?

Simple question: Would you like to have the choice to use a toggleable Guild Tag on your character's name? And if you like the idea, would you use it, and where/why/how often?

I'll propose a very simple version: you, the player, can choose to either show a guild tag next to your name (similar to a title). You can choose which of your guilds you are currently tagged for, and you can rotate through them whenever you choose.

For instance, in-game, my character would appear as "Ixtyr Falavir - [GBN]".

Specifics of design are moot, I'm moreso asking whether you'd use the core system.

Personally, I feel that this would be useful, and I would use it.

When I'm running around in the world, or especially in PvP, and I see someone with cool gear, or running an open-world RP event, or sieging a Keep/Resource, I want to be able to know more easily what guild everyone is with.

It'd not only be informative and helpful, but it'd also be both great to help advertise and get your guild's name out there, as well as a great way to give players a sense of pride knowing that if you're running as a guild group in Cyrodiil, people will recognize the guild, especially since tabards are far too difficult to distinguish between guilds and players, and so few people even wear them (and fewer pay attention to them).

With people being in 5 different guilds I'm not sure this is really useful. I can also see some guilds demanding that you display THEIR tag over any others you are in and this potentially causing conflict. If you could choose which of your characters display which tags without having to remember to change it every time it might be workable. I have characters that are more a part of a specific guild and others that are not. And some that have no guild affiliation at all.

The poll is about guild tags visible to everyone, not only your guildmates. Social Indicators can't do this.

Hmmm... Yeah, you're right. But I still don't think that it's something "must have". I'm absolutely fine without these tags.

This would be a nice way to advertise for your guild in PVP/PVE as well. Get your name out there. I've thought about this a few times. I'm sure this will be on the to-do list along with removal of vet levels.

I can agree with this. Still, I think it'd be a nice feature and I'd definitely use it if it was available.

I still feel that having the option available is better than not having it. I get where you're coming from, in fact that's something that has happened with some groups in Guild Wars 2. That said, their system actually ties literally all guild benefits that can be earned both for the player and the guild to whether you're representing, and that's not what I'm asking for here - rather it'd just be a title, no strings attached.

I would hope that if they added this, it would be done in a way that makes it easy to choose and change. I like the thought of you having to manually choose the guild you rep based on character and not by account, though.
