We all know that we can have a different weapon and skills set on the second bar and i had a crazy idea today but it may not work, but i thought i would share it. You see as i was running dungeons tonight the healer died and we could not get near him, i am a heavy armour dps and i thought if i could swap not just my swords for a staff and skills set to a healer would it not be great if i swapped to my second bar my armour changed from heavy to light to help with the healing until we could get the healer back.

I wouldn't have an issue with it, but as far as PvP goes it'd give you a ridiculous advantage so I'd have to say no. At lower levels it can be hard, but once you hit veteran ranks you can just use 5 pieces of heavy 2 pieces of light, and a combination of Igneous Shield and Healing Springs to keep everyone alive to revive the healer.

or you could just use Magma Armor and revive him yourself, that way you don't take any damage whatsoever while reviving.

it would lead to a massive imbalance between the classes as any class that is able to fill the healer role would become demigods in PvP

I follow the idea and often agree but then it seems best to choose a build where the two bars support your gear always.
DPS and healer is very doable for anyone. Effectiveness would change tho...I've found it best to build a balanced character vs a strict build because in this game, playing with only one healer is a recipe for death.

    No.

The inbalance aside... you can plausibly switch what you hold in your hands on the battlefield, sheathe one weapon and draw anothe, but instantly changing all your clothes??? Nope.

having two weapons is fits perfectly. NOTHING can be changed in combat except swapping weapons for a very good reason.
dont you feel like having dress up parties while fighting giant monsters a little bit much?

So.. we can throw fireballs, have magic shields, and generate creatures out of thin air but we cant quickchange armor?

If a model on the catwalk can do it...

lol. JK. I vote no as well. This is a "make a decision" kind of thing for me. Maybe protect your healer better next time.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

Actually... that quickchange IS in the game. Just use disguises and you'll see... ;)

And I suppose, "bound armor" would also qualify, after a fashion...

But those are the special cases. Can't really see insta-swaps between robes and functional platemail, no matter how good a quickchange artist one might be... keep it to the weapons, and be happy, not every game even has weapon swaps!

The only change I would like to see... is the character model showing both weapon sets. So my mains daggers don't just vanish and her bow doesn't just pops into existence when I hit the "swap" button, but one gets sheathed and the other drawn instead...

No, people wouldn't want that, because that might make stuff fun.

Seriously though, its something that tons of other popular MMOs utilise, and it doesn't seem to hurt them too badly. The ability to swap all items at the click of a button allowing for flexibilty etc

A caveat is usually being out of combat.
