[1.6] Templar heavy armor for tanking & DPS

Hello there,

I really want to reroll as a templar when 1.6 goes live, because I want to experience the game again with the justice system and because I want to test the templar class.
Now I know that with 1.6 the heavy armor got some buff (and nerf) and I'm wondering if you know if it's viable to go for Heavy Armor for a stamina DPS. Will I have a major handicap as DPS with heavy armor? I'm tired of my medium and light armor char, I want to build a char with a lot survivability, and I like the look of Heavy armor too. I may be a tank for leveling, but I want it to be a DPS for the endgame.

Will the templar help me compensate the loose of Stamina by not wearing medium, or will 5 heavy + 2 medium help me? Or should I forget the idea of a heavy armor DPS.

For levelling purpose I know that I could do whatever I prefer, but I already got a V14 sorc and I know endgame is very demanding for good DPS, so I want the final build to be effective.

It can be done, but it will only be a shadow of how effective you would be in medium. 2 medium helps, belt and head, so you look like your in heavy, you then probably went Hundings, for the missing weapon power, as you'll need to use stamina regen enchants.

Your crit will be lower, your regen will be harder to cap, your damage will be lower than medium. If you play with friends rather than min maxers, you will probably be able to perform at 70% if what you could in medium, but that's enough to complete most content, assuming the others are not as poorly optimised.

Basically you can look cool, but you need others to appreciate that, or they will likely not be happy that you are hamstringing the group.

If you want to do trials as dps in heavy, then you better have very thick skin.

Ahaha thanks for the honest anwser, that what I wanted to hear, 70% of my performance is good enough for leveling yeah.

I think that in the end I'll have 2 set, and use the full medium one for Trials and VR Dungeons and use heavy for the levelling + PVP.

    Thanks!
