A Question for ZoS CM's / Devs / Community Inputers

Hi ZoS / Gina / et all

I just wanted to ask something if I may, more revolving around the comments made by Gina in the official post stickied about community interaction and ZoS dev's and such inputting into the forums, as well as the general "conduct" elements being enforced.

Can you give us an assurance that with these "enforcements" that are coming down the line, that the Press Releases, AMA's or anything along those lines (something which is clearly affecting or involving the community) will first and foremost be posted here in the forums rather than Reddit?

I've seen to many communities self implode from actions like this and it would be nice if there was some re-assurance that this is not likely to happen.

It also kind of says that the company is not investing in their own community to make it succeed and it's "just easier" to go to reddit, which is pretty bad.

Also, as previously mentioned by others, when will the Devs actively come into the forums and start to really "work" with the community. It's great SAYING that, but it's something that definitely needs to be actioned sooner or later. Half the arguments/discussions I read in here are somewhat technical about "this nerf by .25% over pie divided by infinity means that my NB is now borked" and could be resolved relatively quickly with a sensible comment from someone in the know that "this is done because of x,y and z".

Anyhows, my 2 cents and Cheers for reading,

Pez.
Oh, p.s. - Can you up the level of the font in the forums as well please by 1 :)
P.P.S: I meant to add: Please, get your designers to sort out that horrible, blue BUY button. It's shameful :(

The problem with that is you would IMMEDIATELY have "unofficial" sources posting that info on reddit... with reddit ZOS gets to break the news officially and publicly.

At most, we'd get simultaneous announcements.

    I disagree with that.

These ARE the official forums for the community. I mean, you can't even register, you have to purchase the game to get the invite to them.

Now, if they wish to post it AS WELL on Reddit, fine, but purely from a community relationship/interaction perspective, to forgo putting initial posts in their own community forums is just ludicrous.

    Hey @P3ZZL3,

Any time we have an official announcement about the game (such as Tamriel Unlimited), we'll always post a blog article on our website with a link to discuss it here on the forums. Patch notes will always be posted on our forums first. The questions and answers from the Ask Us Anything that we conduct on ESO Live also get posted on the forums after the show. If they appear on Reddit, it was from one of our fans.

As for developers posting more, we want to make sure the expectation isn't that they'll be posting multiple times a day. Their top priority is the game, but they do enjoy frequenting the forums when time allows. We'll make sure their posts are tracked in the Dev Tracker so you can easily find them. :)

Hope this answers your questions and concerns!

Ah yes. The blog. I forget about that. Well.... that answers that, eh?

    @ZOS_GinaBruno

Thanks for the prompt response Gina, appreciated.

It certainly does answer the question. I watched the demise of the SMITE Forums because of their insistence to move everything to Reddit. Everything just imploded, no one knew what was going on and the forums died :(

As for the Devs - I agree where there time should be is working out the kinks and the bugs within the game. I think as long as those expectations are clearly relayed to the community everyone would understand. Maybe an "Ask the Devs" section (rather than just the Dev Tracker) where people can ask questions. Any posts that move off topic from the original question are removed and the Devs can purely respond to that question when they have a chance.

Also, if you read this, I'd just like to say I've recently being dealing with Brad in Escalations in the US. He's a legend and a totally decent guy. Excellent customer skills and a pleasure to talk to. Please recommend him for a raise and a plush mud crab :)

I'm going to be slightly positive on this one. As long as things ARE actioned on the forums/site first, then I have no issue with it. It's when companies pretty much drop their own platforms of communication and go to another "as it's what the cool kids supposedly do" when things fall apart.

To be honest, only time will tell. IF the Devs do genuinely comment and feedback and the notices ARE put on the forums to the community of PAYING INVITED subscribers first, then it's all good in my book.
