Clueless Vet player and have some questions...

Ok, played beta, had early access and got my lvl on till I hit VR1. Then hit the grind wall with the mobs being a bit OP. The fun ran out, due to the grind just didn't seem worth it. Dropped my sub. and bought a XBoxOne and been playing with my kids and Destiny with my friends. Came back after hearing about the console X-Fer and thought I would just grind some VR lvl's and get my gold up to a healthy amount along with my crafting profs...basically perparing for XboxOne.

I was surprised that the VR lvl mobs were nerfed and that there were no more gold sellers...YES! But still feel a bit lost after the lengthy break so I thought I would ask a few questions so you guys could help me catch a bit up to speed.

With the upcoming 1.6patch and everything basically changing is it worth me lvling VR lvls or just bank my finished quests until 1.6? (btw, I'm now VR3).

Is the grouping tool ever going to be worthwhile? I mean its 2015 MMO, and it seems like the worst grouping tool I have seen. Played EQ1 pre-kunark so I know a bit about grouping and MMO's. Why is there no incentive to use this thing? Honestly Zmax could throw a gold reward and possibly mats/gear as a reward and peeps would use...why is this not happened?

Trials...I have no idea what these are, and please dont feel like you need to explain. I can google, btw...I un-sub'd when Craglorn came out.

Are there any other dailies other than the crafting writs? I know about the Undaunted dungeon, but after seeing the dumpster fire grouping tool and tired of just spamming for group invites, I gave up and continued my VR grind.

Cadwell's Gold/Silver quest...I'm AD, and currently doing Ebonheart atm is this considered Silver and then the next faction considered Gold?

Any other tips or tricks that you use daily that could help out a old school MMO noob that came back?

One thing is nice since I came back the community hasn't changed. For the most part this has been one of the most friendly forums/community that I have encounted..thanks for any help that you may provide..Be safe!

I havn't read your whole post yet, but I'd say it's definately worth playing your Vet Character right now before the patch goes out. I heard you get up to 70 Champion points (V14) depending on your Veteran level, but after the patch goes out it is going to be significantly more XP to earn CPs.

Welcome back! I agree with aidantwab, I would carry on levelling your VR dude. Agreed, grouping is bad, I woukd suggest you join a guild, helps with grouping - if you would like an invite to mine, feel free to message me here or in game. Enjoy the ride!

WB. There are a lot of repeatable quests in Craglorn. On EU server I see some time to time players searching a group for questing.

You can still level like normal. When the champion system comes out you will get 5 Champion Point per level. If you are part way through a level when it comes into force, you get 1 CP for every 200000 of XP you have in that level.

You are correct, Caldwell Gold is the Daggerfell Covent for AD players.

The easiest way I have found to group is to ask in zone chat or in guild chats. There are always people looking to do daylies.

Thank you for all the quick replies..wanted to make sure I wasn't laying the pipe to myself by wasting my quests on VR content since CP is coming..feel better now.

I'm not sure the LFG tool is completely broken at the moment. A large part of why it doesn't work is that nobody uses it, we all learned to find groups elsewhere when it really was broken. So even if it does work, there are so very few people it could group you with. It got to the point when the CS reps advise people to use zone chat, lol.
