With champion points ZOS could remove levels entirely

Minus dynamic mobs scale, ESO could become like a traditional TES experience, let me explain.

- With champion point your character become a little bit stronger everytime you invest a point in. In that regards it's very close to Skyrim or even Oblivion, of course you still get 2 systems, CS and skills levelling.
- We don't need levels to be displayed anymore. Some zone or challenge could be hard, hard would require to have some champion points in order to mitigate damage or do a better DPS etc...
- The crafting is already perfect, we could have a flat gear, only the original crafting material is taken into account, not the level. Like in a traditional TES, the better is the material, the better is the item (it's already the case anyway). Later zone will hold better materials, you could totally get them at level 1, but it would require to be very sneaky, or to be in group.
- The skills system is already a levelling system of it's own, we have 3 levelling system in the game now, the CS, the skills and the normal/VR levels, this is too much.
- Removing levels will gives a bit more freedom, even if it's only virtual, story quests would still be chained and gated, but you could totally walk to any zones, like in Morrowind, as the enemies are not scaled on you but have a "level of power", you'll feel squisher in later zone, or it'll be just impossible. Content is still gated, but not only because of your level, because your character is not powerful enough because you've not unlocked the right "skills" in the constellation.
- Keep veteran dungeon and trial very hard, players will find a way to identify players with not enough CP to do them.

ZOS haven't said anything about what they intend to do to remove VRs, and frankly I don't see how they will be able to do it in a coherent way at all.

For the reasons you cite, and others, once the VR ranks go a whole swathe of content (zones, mobs, materials, etc.) no longer has a reason to exist, and all the rewards from playing such content cease to exist, logically.

Worse, levels give a clear basis for the scaling of mobs to player 'power', remove the idea of a 'level' and what do we have? CPs are a wat to SPEND XP not a way to GAIN IT, the entire Champion System has nothing to do with content scaling that remotely compares to the explicit and easily understood methods of comparing mob 'power' with that of players.

Crafting is another area where entire tiers of materials and gear simply no longer have a reason to exist, again CPs are no substitute for simple 'levels' when it comes to itemising gear, recipes and patterns for crafting, etc.

I am unaware of any game, ever, where leveling content has been removed after release, creating a large vacuum that needs to be filled .. and a throw-away comment in Friday's 'Live' confirms my belief (to me at least) that ZOS still haven't got a coherent plan either, which is why it's unlikely we'll see anything till approaching a year after they announced VRs would be going; if even then.

Well the idea is to goo to harder zone kill harder mobs and do quest in order to gain more Exp and earn CP faster. Then you can do first trials, second etc...
