I would say it looks like ESO has some competition on the next generation of consoles, but Neverwinter sucks by all accounts :P

Ugh, Cryptic. Expect an Asian grind game, with multiple currencies that waffle between real money you can't use for anything else, and stuff you can either grind for weeks or buy for a couple bucks.

EJ, we're talking about a company that literally charged players one of their semi-cash grind currencies to level up during one of their F2P betas.

And, if I'm not mistaken, you do need to cough up real money to upgrade to a tier 6 ship in STO now.

You are correct.

STO pretty much forces...err....encourages a player to pay real money for zen to then use to try to play the dilithium exchange market, to then wait to refine enough dilithium to get any Tier 5 or lower ship.

At this point you need zen for any good furute ships released (like the Tier 6 command ships that cost $30+). So happy I went F2P awhile ago with STO.

Best part is that there is no CS in STO and they never listen to their players when serious concerns, bug, etc. are brought up, but once some small things happens to the z-store there, everyone and their brother at Cryptic fixes the issue right away.

Ugh. Final straw for me was when they announced that my Chimera wouldn't upgrade to T6. And if I wanted to "upgrade" my Vestas, I'd have to cough up cash for it.

Everyone's perspective is interesting...having actually played the BETA last week on Xbox One, this is actually a real threat.

If Neverwinter releases prior to TESO Unlimited, part of the console expectation will follow a free game for those who have never played a MMO or for those who enjoy MMO's but now prefer console.

If TESO has similar issues in the first 90 days like it did on PC, Neverwinter will hurt their sales.

$0 + (pay for progress/currency) vs. $60 + (pay for DLC and crowns)

I played that on PC before ESO came out, I will never go back, three different currencies, pay2win stuff, ugggh NO....

It has it's moments but it's all about the cash shop and P2W..

Any new game will pull players temporarily. It's only the games that keep them that are a threat. Ex.) Archage. A ton of my guildmates went over to it at launch, got bored after a few months, and moved on.
