Elder Scrolls card minigame

What do you think? Do you want such a thing? Something like Magic The Gathering but in Elder Scrolls theme? It would be nice to play with other players in taverns, collect new cards, trade them, etc. It can be also on tablets and connected with ESO, like in HearthStone, which is connected with WoW.

I really don't want another copy of MTG, especially using TES lore as a pretext.

If Bethesda did it, I might buy it just for the weirdness, but Zeni does not do a good job with the lore.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Maybe I shouldn't have voted because I don't play card games anyway.

I don't want to see it go the way of having to buy card packs to get loot cards for in-game items.

I could actually imagine creating something like that as a UI mod - I'd even have interest in doing so. It would be possible, but communication would be hard considering the fact you can't create hidden communication channels for addons. :(

You just referenced three other games on a forum featuring another game while talking about a card game.

Card games, yes... A CCG in ESO? No thanks.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

Ya it's not like they have consultants from Bethesda Game Studios guiding them on the lore.....oh wait yes they do.

it's a great idea but it's a massive project, nowhere near the "minigame" you are making it out to be.

I agree. I think it could be great. But, I'd rather have them spending that time/money on creating actual content for ESO.

I could go for a physical Elder Scrolls CCG... so long as it was in vein of FFG's non-random releases. Maintaining random pack releases is just to expensive now that I'm no longer in a position to burn a couple grand a year on keeping up with the tournament scene.

But, a card game in ESO? No.

Not really interested in something where you have to pay real money for packs or whatever (like what EverQuest did with Legends of Norrath). I'd be more interested in something like this:

On the Thieves' Guild skill tree, you have an ability. When the ability is activated, it applies to your character like a buff. The next bad guy you kill, you get a card for it. Because thieves are all about card games.
    • Maximum of 4 cards per mob (example: only 4 lamia divas per character).
    • Maximum of 1 card per named kill. (example: only 1 Limbscather)
    • Must be at least green to get a card for it, to prevent KS'ing lower level players.
    • If you don't kill it, you don't get a card for it (no card for Molag Bal or Haskill or any other character you have to just "beat up" for a quest).
    • If you complete an area, or zone, or faction, with the ability in your ability bar, you get a card for that. But only one each.
    • All cards are tradeable and sellable. A player could build a competitive deck without having to go out and collect the cards themselves.
    • Potentially other areas to collect cards from depending on game mechanics, such as abilities or items.
