Every time I log in I have this issue..
"Lua is reaching its memory limit..."
Please take a look at a few of these addons and put them in game as part of the UI.
Minimap, Inventory space display, Advanced Filters, Awesome guild Store, Mobile Bank, Research Assistant.
These are great mods for a reason. I'm sure there are many more. My point is that a good game should not need (by some) mods in order to run smoothly. Some of these mods make it more fun for us to play by making things easier. Just make them able to be turned off so that others who don't like them to not have them on their interface.
Some games watch to see what addons players use to improve their games. Id think that would be something a new game would want to do as well.
I've seen this message kill me in other games, it's usually because you don't have enough ram available to the game. Nowadays I've got 16g of ram. Something you could try is opening the Task Manager and changing the ESO process to high priority.

How to increase your default LUA Memory Limit:
1.) Close completely out of the game and launcher.
NOTE: If you try changing these settings while the game is still active, it will just overwrite what you changed next time you log out and you will be back at square one.
2.) Open your computers "Documents" folder. (Usually can access this straight from the Windows button, if not, go to "Computer" then click "Documents" in the left hand pane.)
3.) Open the folder labeled: "Elder Scrolls Online".
4.) Open the folder labeled: "live"
5.) Open the file labeled: "UserSettings.txt"
6.) Locate the line in this file called: SET LuaMemoryLimitMB "64"
NOTE: To quickly find this line, press "Ctrl + F" to bring up the document search function and type in "Lua" and search. You will find the above mentioned line.
7.) Change the "64" to either "128" or "256".
NOTE: We want to go in multiples of 2 for this entry. Changing this variable is going to increase the amount of data stored and used by your computers RAM. So if you are willing to give up 256MB, that is what I recommend you change the variable to. I use "256" while using heavy data add-ons, and have not reached the limit yet. So, I'll say "256" is ideal. Now if you don't have much RAM on your computer and can't justify giving up that much RAM, then use "128".
8.) Click "File" in the top left corner of the text document, then click "Save". Then exit out.
9.) Relaunch ESO and enjoy not seeing that error message anymore! Also, enjoy storing more data for your ESO records in game!!!
I'll consider it when ZOS considers adding basic UI functionality to their game.Have you tried not using 100 addons?.....

No, the memory issue is because add-ons use LUA, no one in their right mind would write the UI in a scripting language if it were part of the core program. The memory problem is entirely down to LUA, or the fact that the add-on's scripts are HUMUNGOUS due to their having to implement vast amounts of functionality that the built-in UI should provide out-of-the-box.AlexDougherty wrote: »um, if they made these apps part of the ui, wouldn't we all get the memory full message all the time?
