Question on character transfer's and console discount.

So I've heard that you can transfer the account character's from PC to console which is awesome! But I kinda like to have a physical copy of the game. I'm wondering if the discount/transfer to console is available only through digital download or does it apply for physical copies of the game as well?

Players who purchased the PC / Mac game from The Elder Scrolls Online Store or a retail store and redeemed their game code by 6/30/14 (11:59pm UTC) will be able to purchase the console transfer (for $20.00 USD or €14,99 Euro or £12.99 GBP) at a later date and enjoy the full Tamriel experience on console with 30 days of included game time.

I would say yes, it's available for physical copies too.

It's only a redeemable digital copy. not a physical one.

The highlighted is in reference to where you purchased it. So if you did buy a physical copy from a retail store, you are able to download a digital console version for $20.

You also need to have bought the game before June (will need to double check) in order to be eligible for the cheap digital version with transfer.

If you don't qualify, there may be an option to transfer a character for a price after purchasing a full priced console version. This is only speculation though, nothing solid.

From Re: ESO Live - Ask Us Anything!
Will PC to console transfer ever be sold? I'm not talking about the ones last year for the few that are eligible. Many of us missed that buy-date time and want to transfer a character to console.

    No.

I guess they want to avoid a massive influx of VR14 players in the console version.
Maybe a few months after launch but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Yes I believe they discontinued that idea. They said the reason why was because both PC and console were launched roughly around the same time for the idea and now they don't want a migration situation where people go from one platform to another.
