Why?

Why is it when I walk into town, or to an NPC in the middle of nowhere, their textures DO NOT LOAD until after a while?

I can only put it down to these reasons....

1. ESO code sucks
2. My GPU sucks
3. My INTERNET sucks

anybody with a 970 or something crazy that doesn't have this problem? Tell me your settings so that I can try them.

I know this might sound dumb to you guys but... its so immersion breaking I can't stand it...(unless I play with the camera far out lol)

Anybody else having this problem? Is it fixed in 1.6?

I still experience this on an i7-4790k and a gtx 970, but I'm NOT running the game on an SSD. I imagine texture pop-in is reduced by a fair amount if you're not using a mechanical hard drive.

Edit for clarity: I see textures right away, but sometimes the higher resolution textures for buildings/environment/clothing don't load for a second a two.

I have a GTX 560 Ti and don't have the problem, playing on high settings with 3 years old drivers (which I've not updated because they run everything I play flawlessly).

On my current computer I run on ultra with no problems, it's in my signature. I also have a weak WISP, Kwik Internet, and live in a rural Canadian area that's mostly trees and rocks. So my connection tops out at 1.5Mbps, but it's more like 80kbps. I don't have these issues, so I don't know how you can unless you're running on a Commadore.

I have FIOS, the game is on a Samsung 840 SSD and I have a Radeon R9 200 series.

Lately, I have LuxLunae's (stated) probs, but it really bugs me when I go to places like the forge in Auridon and have to wait for the Anvil to show up.
    It's getting worse.

This is what am talking about for clarity. First the textures are horrible looking then after like .4 seconds the higher res textures load. However even on MEDIUM settings this happens...

I also have that problem with a GTX 780 Ti. You can force textures to always be highest resolution. But thats a HUGE impact on your FPS. I wouldnt recommend it.

To be fair I have always had issues but only after the September time-frame of what you're reporting. There was an update that addressed some items and caused a game crashing error and seemed to increase the showing of those red boxes with the text "missing" inside. After this I also noticed exactly what you're reporting and that has continued even as of yesterday.

On the PTS, on the same computer there is a night and day graphical experience under the same settings so hold on tight. it looks like help is on the way.

Video Card - GeForce GTX 260M (laptop)
    Internet - 40Mbs down/ 10 Mbs up

I don't have a high end machine based on current hardware today, and my internet is decent. I don't think any of this contributes to this experience.

I get this issue too and I'm playing on an i7 4790K (16GB ram) with TESO running off a SSD; my graphics card is only a Geforce 760, but that should be plenty.

I think the eso staff left that on for all settings.. IT SHOULD BE OFF for medium and above...

of couse since I don't think they ever made it so that it loads the textures far before you walk up to the person, they may have to change some stuff... Even then this should really be a 24 hr time fix... It should not be that hard.

it should be as easy as...

if the settings are on medium or high or ultra high

Load textures X distance away from player on medium.

Load textures y distance away from player on high.

Load textures z distance away from player on ultra high.

instead of having all settings in the game loading textures as if on low settings..

The problem is below look at the characters I run to and the textures lag to be placed on them.. yes I know it is a small gripe BUT I HATE THAT ... I HATE IT!!

    exactly my Problem too.

    I7 3770k; GTX 770 4Gb VRAM; 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM; WIn7 Home Premium 64bit; Samsung 840 Evo SSD, Drivers all up to date.

u can change the ini-option " SET MIP_LOAD_SKIP_LEVELS "0" to -1,-2,-3 (-2 should be enough to load the HD textures instantly) but i got stutters with that.

Rly...what kind of Shi.. is this..-.- Guys with far lower Maschines havent got this Problem..-.- Rly...this "error" kills the Atmosphere for me -.-

Someone of u guys got this Problem solved?

Well there you go. You have FIOS. Verizon can't even give me a consistent mobile signal from block to block in my city. One reason I'll never ever go back to FIOS. Sure Comcast is expensive and their customer service is about as good as the Inquisition (Spain, not Dragon Age), but, at least their Hi-Speed internet is worth it.
