Rubbish Tips

I recall playing a game many years ago where you could find lootable things in rubbish tips. Thought occured to me that they might add a bit of atmosphere to the cities. They could act like barrels or crates do (except obviously you don't have to steal rubbish).

It would also be a way of having some containers in cities still that are not marked as owned. You could find bits of food, clothes etc.

Would give the cities a gritty feel - literally. Go well will the new thieving system. Dark streets with rubbish tips. The seedy end of town.

Anyone like this idea?

Well it's certainly different. They do have a set of mechanics which could be modified to do this, by combining Container Looting with gound placement from some of the quests.

I did wonder if this would be a post about poor ESO advice . Good to see it wasn't

Never heard the term Rubbish Tips.....

However we should be able to loot garbage cans in the game. One mans trash is another man's treasure as they say.

I did, too! I think that would be a fun idea for a thread, actually.

OP: I think this is a good idea and could add atmosphere around the cities.

That never occured to me actually. Where I am from (the north) we call anything that is a mess a 'tip'. Your mother tells you your room is a tip and that you look like a tip and the place you take your old fridges is called the tip.

I think it was one of the old Might and Magic games that I am thinking of. In the poor areas - swamps, places where orcs hung out - you had these piles of rubbish that were lootable containers. You sometimes got good loot and sometimes icky things but it was fun to loot something other than a barrel or crate.

Hah - I am English I just never thought that anyone else might take it to mean anything other than 'a pile of rubbish'.

Hmm, I clicked on this thread thinking it would be about gameplay tips people had given you that turned out to be rubbish...

But my scouser relatives use the term "tips" in this sense often enough that the actual subject of this thread quickly made sense to me

I'd agree, this would be a good way to go with the justice system being implemented. Make the rubbish tips less likely to give you anything useful, but still give you an opportunity to grab stuff in towns without running afoul of the law, as you're just grabbing stuff that other people have thrown out anyway.

Actually, it would be really cool if this was a way to get clothes, but the clothes would almost always be the types of soiled/torn clothes you see beggars and urchins wearing...

Zombies have flesh piles you can loot. Does that count?
