Okay so, I know we've all been there. You make a character, but after so much effort into leveling you begin to not like your avatars look anymore.

In short we need a barber shop or something that will allow us to change our characters looks after the creation process.

100g for every change you make.

Been asked for since Beta, but apparently the Devs still haven't even decided on how they'd want to do this if they started to work on it.

    100% agree.

And there are two precedents for allowing such. The first being the showeracemenu command or an analogous console command(i know Oblivion and Skyrim had this, i forget about TES games before this) that lets you completely reset your TES character(within reason-you canchange race/gender as well as looks, but your game will go all kinds of fubar). The second being the Face Changer NPC that came as part of the Skyrim Dawnguard DLC.

I'd think if ZoS went for an option like this, they would most likely go for the second type. Probably put w/e they call the npc in an area most players has easy access to-though i wouldn't be surprised if such an option ended up as DLC or some crown shop item under the collections tab. Flat 100g for the change wouldn't be convoluted enough for ZoS imo.

EDIT: just came to me the command in Oblivion and Skyrim was 'showracemenu' not 'changeracemenu'.

They already stated barbershop will be coming. Someday. Noone knows any particulars yet, if that one will be all kinds of changes or just hair & adornments... time will tell.

Personally I would like to have a barbershop for "everyday" appereance changes (hair, makeup, adornments) for a small gold cost or perhaps even free like dyes, with optional hairstyles/makeups/tatoos/adornments unlockable through gameplay; and an seperate character edit option to change things that are not everyday, fix things that looked different in chargen, change voice, adjust height, that sort of thing. Possibly even paid for with crowns instead of gold, I know adjusting my characters would be worth that for me. Also, character name change options in the crown store, I really want to adjust one of mine, make it sound more lore-conform...

I expect, in due time, all those options will show up, one way or another.
I just wish it would be a dhorter time until they do...

I'd even support race changes... as OoC "character retcon" costing a hefty amount of crowns.
If someone really finds changing their characters race worth paying the equivalent of ten, fifteen dollars real money... why not let them? Fill the developers coffers, finance more and faster content development for the rest of us... and if they want to chase the FotM, it might get pricey...

The cosmetic stuff though, that one I really, really want to see as soon as possible, whatever way they choose to do.

I recall in an older video that a 'barber shop' style method was discussed but nothing was really confirmed. I wouldn't mind having some options for customization being offered through the crown store; such as unique adornments, cosmetics, tattoos, and hair styles. But I think it would be more appropriate to have the option to change your characters entire appearance (a-la Skyrim) to be integrated into the game itself.

I'll tell you the exact same thing that Paul Sage and EVERY SINGLE ZOS EMPLOYEE THAT'S BEEN OFFERED THIS SUGGESTION OR ASKED THIS QUESTION tells us.

    "It's on the list."

    Patience, my young Padawan.

It's coming. Maybe even in a DLC or as a Crown Shop item. But it's right up there with player housing.

Don't expect to see it before we get closer to the 2nd Anniversary of Launch.

They will put it into the game eventually and when they do it will go right into the cash shop. Mark my words on that.
"And it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days. The fact that the word "monetized" exists points to the heart of the issue for us: We don't want the player to worry about which parts of the game to pay for - with our system, they get it all."

I'm so longing for any service like this, too!

And as already proposed, it'd make a lot of sense to have both, an in game option to make trivial changes of a character's styling etc. and a service to completely reshape the phenotype (via Crown Store or whatever)! There're thousands of likely reasons to regret a decision you made about a char, not least because they look so very different depending on what kind of gear you wear and so on. And yes, sometimes this takes a whole lot of time to realize and getting annoyed at it. Thus, I'm pretty sure, a lot of players desire to revise their decision with the character creation and I don't see any good reason why such a simple service shouldn't be provided. Actually, it's a standard option among most of the popular MMOs for very good reasons, besides it being quite profitable. ZOS should give this request a lot more priority, since it's on the wish lists of so many people. Are there more pressing issues? Maybe!... or maybe not. As far as I and a lot of players I know are concerned, it is important and I know, I'm the complete oposite of alone with that. It harms the fun you experience in a game like that to a very notable extent. So please developers, make it happen very soon!

If you feel the same way, give them a feedback ticket in game and let them know! The more people request, the more likely it is for it to climb up the hierarchy of issues on their 'list'!

How is that silly? Quite often you see NPCs from different factions in your alliances quest line. So it's fine. What you don't see is them shedding their skin and turning into a different race. That is silly. I'm all for barber shop/appearance changes, but against race changes in the crown store.

I don't know of any MMO type that launched with any of this. Prob are some but no shocker consider all the delays on everything for all platforms.

Funny, half the MMOs I played seems to have launched without any of this...
Granted, some have refittred it since.
As ESO will by all accounts... someday.

We all here just wish that someday came sooner...

Of course, a lot of that was caused by the console version release putting pretty much everything else on hold I suppose. Though that's done with now, so... I am hopeful of seeing the stuff they announced in the "road ahead" last year to come now! IC is here already, Orsinium coming, thieves guild and dark brotherhood hinted at... latter might be a logical place for appereance changes to come with, in an attempt to throw the law off your trail... ;)

And yes, I too wish it was here already! But then I remind myself that patience is a virtue... which may not fix the problem, but lets me feel a bit better about myself for waiting...
