What's the point of killing innocent bystanders with 1.6?

So far I like the justice system in the 1.6 update, but what's the point of killing the innocent bystanders? There is no Dark Brother hood.

I'd been stealing everything not nailed down in every occupied house and the NPC's just warn me to stop, but they don't attack me, so again what's the point in killing them?

I haven't played the PTS. I assume, If it's anything like other TES games, it's to remove a witness to your crimes.

Maybe the drop more loot on kill then when pickpocketing? Or you just want to act like a cold blooded murderer?

I guess the more obvious reasons will present themselves with the upcoming thief guild and dark brotherhood.

EDIT: THe witness bit is a good point, hope they implement that, allthough that might make it too easy to just go into houses and kill everything. Maybe if they tried to run real fast out the door to alert guards or something :P

Because you can. Its very much apart of Elder Scrolls.

And they do eventually want to add the Dark Brotherhood so its not like that wont be a thing in the future.

Killing witnesses didn't work for me. I killed everyone in a house to test this and a guard was on me in seconds after i exited the house, but as long as there was only one NPC in the house that I killed then I didn't get caught.

I guess if there are one or more NPC's in the house, one of them seems to call 911 on their cell before your kill them?

There is an achievement linked to killing innocents. In the video we saw with the interview with Paul, Matt and Pete there was some loot on the body but the few people I did kill did not have any loot on them.
