Is it still a crazy grind to vr14?

lakin1994b16_ESO
Just a quick one, im currently VR4, just over half way to 5 and still have a few quests left in eastmarch and then have the rift to do, what VR level should i be upon completing the EHP zones?
ALSO, as the title says, are we still rewarded *** all for quests ect in VR zones? Does it still take a goooood long while?
Cheers.

I'm a VR 2 EP and working my way through Stormhaven. According to my achievements I have completed ALL EP quests in ALL EP zones, cool! Only thing is I went back to Deshaan last night playing with my son who is EP level 32 and guess what, I found 3 new quests I'd missed. Now how can I miss them if I have done all of them? These are not daily repeats or anything, just that don't think you've done all of them just because the achievement board tells you that you have.

Yes but if you get to Craglorn at VR1 you can grind to VR14 in a few days pretty easily. As long as you are able to solo multiple mobs with ease.

I just had holidays and did a Sorc from level 14 to VR14 in about 5-6 days. VR1-14 was mostly Crag, obviously I sprinkled some skyshard collecting etc into it as well to build enough skillpoints.

If you are at Eastmarch (presumably that is your Cadwell's Silver?), I would recommend just clearing the Silver zones if you are nearly done. Go to Craglorn, grind to VR14 before the next patch comes out (if you have the time). It is much quicker and you will get your 70 CP in the next patch, and then you can save Cadwell's Gold zones for your CP grind later on after the patch.

The bolded part is your problem. The achievement does not indicate that you have done every single quest. When the game first released it was something like 95-98% of a zone's quests in order to unlock that achievement.

Upon mass complaining, most zone's requirements to get the achievements were lowered considerably. In some cases there were 10-12 quests dropped from the requirements.

If that was your gauge for completion, I would say there is a lot more in the zones you may have missed out on.

How exactly do you get to Craglorn? DO you have to finish Cadwell's quest first?

Actually, there are no achievements which are given for completing all the quests, simply once you complete x amount of quests per zone. So you can actually get the achievement and still have a few quests missing.

Anyway, if you're motivated and have enough time on your hands, completing a zone each day with all the achievements / exploration aspect etc etc unlocked is quite possible. The 'main' quests in each zone yield skill points and generally you're moving around the map getting Skyshards.. so I feel questing is worthwhile, two birds and whatnot. The rewards are quite.. bad but questing from 1 to rank 13 so far on my DK alt has made over 400k gold alongside almost maxed professions on him (for hirelings and whatnot) and a nice complete map, so it's not all bad.

There are no real grinding spots outside of Spellscar anyway, I'd quest, if only for the map completion.

    Not at all.

I am in EP, so to get to Craglorn I just went to Mournhold in Deeshan and there is a horse+carriage right there in the city. The person on that will talk about a quest, and offer to take you to Craglorn.

Here is ZOS's explanation of how to get there:

I kinda put all my VR characters on hold and am spending my gametime leveling up my pre-50 alts, in anticipation of the coming soon champion system. No sense wasting the expees when waiting will also let me earn those ChP, right?
But I suppose each as they think best... not like there won't be enough things to do for XP one way or another.

Once you've finished the main story line, i.e. defeated Mr. B, there's a new quest giver in one of the main towns of your faction. For DC, it's in Wayrest, for the other factions, I cannot say. However, that guy will send you to Craglorn.

Do you have any VR14's on your account?

If you have none at all, then you would be smart to go to Craglorn and grind one of them to VR14 by the next patch.

Being awarded 70CP for ALL your characters, just for having one VR14 on your account, is a big thing. It might not seem like much, but after testing on PTS, I can guarantee you that grinding out those 70CP from scratch will take a long long time. My calculations in another thread was that 35CP unenlightened would cover a full VR1-VR14 grind (based on 1x CP being awarded per 400kXP and each VR being worth 1Mill XP).

Trust me. You want a VR14 by the next patch.

Actually, the carriage is available at VR1, no need to do the main questline to access Craglorn.

I levelled to vr10 at launch and it was quite easy then because groups were easy to put together for all the dungeons and dolmens etc. It's obviously a lot tougher now that the group finder doesn't seem to be working and there isn't a lot of people in the zones.

One thing I have benefitted from lately is going into Cyrodiil and finishing all the quests and delves in there so if you haven't done much in Cyrodiil then theres a good option for a few levels as well.

You don't have to defeat Molag Bal to get to Craglorn, just be VR1. You can even port to a guild member or group member that already has access as long as you are VR1.

the quest to do like 45 quest in a zone for achievement, aint always them all, its just an indicator. There are in fact in most zones more

Not if you don't want to deal with PVP jerks. PVE content in a PVP zone in a game where PVP is isolated is simply crass and ensures many who would love to do it won't ever see it.

They should add something like what Everquest had when they added the Alternate Advancement exp pretty much what the champion system is .

They added a slider bar for experience and you could set it to give what amount of exp you wanted to go to real level exp or how much of exp would go to the AA exp.

So Basically people that are not max lvl could set it where all the exp they earn goes to lvling champ points, or something like 75 % level exp, 25% champ, or 50-50 etc .

Given you'll be gaining champion points as you progress through the veteran leveling system due to the experience being one in the same, this suggestion would only slow down leveling and the accumulation of champion points.. I don't see why it would be implemented, getting all the champion points is going to be tough enough :pensive:.

Why is everyone convinced that getting all the Champion Points is a goal?

Unless you plan on spending a few years just grinding points, you're never going to max out the system. It's not intended to be maxed out like that. It's intended to offer progression as the game expands horizontally rather than vertically.

Same 13,000,000 XP's its been for a while now.

You can quest, you can grind, you can dungeon, you can PvP...

There are more than enough methods to get there in a reasonable amount of time.

(This coming from a VR14 that didn't grind to 14 and still has plenty of gold/side content left.)
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

Make sure you get your Master Explorer achievement for each region, you've literally gotta go around the whole coastline and work your way in, delves and such like only appear on the map when you get near them, plus the amount of ore you can mine and the amount of treasure boxes around the coast is huge!

Well... what else is there to do? Once the new system hits we will have a handful of new achievements and the same old same old. Gaining Champion points will be the only goal I have left outside of making and maxing a NB via questing as I've literally done everything barring hard mode SO (one day!) and certain achievements (fishing sucks and I can't play 24/7 to get emperor).

I understand how the system works and the intent behind it, I'm simply saying that the suggestion provided is counterproductive given how experience works in ESO and would hinder players, if anything.

All that is different from when I left because I didn't feel like doing the grind is that the mobs are easier. I don't know if I would call that better. Makes it a bit more boring but you can burn through them a lot quicker.

That said; as it stands now with 400k xp to get a champion point on PTS while 1 VR level (1000000 XP on live right now) will give you 5 champion points up to VR14 +1000000 over; you are best to suck it up and do it now if you can.
