Are new Stat Scaling just there to hide Nerfs

It really feels like there were huge nerfs to stats across the board.

I'm wondering if the new stat scaling was there to hide them.

If you logged into 1.6 and simply dropped from 2,500 health to 1,800 health everyone would freak out.

But if you go from 2,500 health to 14,000 health it looks like a huge increase.

Except that damage has scaled by 10x, while stats haven't.

This all seems like a huge nerf to push us into grinding Champion Points to make up for the loss.

The problem is, that at the current rate on PTS, most people are taking 4-8 hours to get 1 champion point while Enlightened.

This all seems a bit out of whack, and really feels like a setup similar to what Korean Grind Cash Shop MMOs have.

If the goal of the champion system was to allow newer players to catch up faster then a nerf would be one way to do it. Keep in mind the champion system is set to be horizontal progression for your character.i wouldn't expect it to be major advancements to your end game character. Right now based on my PTS experience it is functioning as advertised.

what they should do is let us use like 1000 points on the pts and get a real feel for the system....then when it goes live make it easier to get the cp points.....but they wont...cause grind for cp points in spots that we will nerf...right ?!

    I agree, it's WAI.

But I don't agree with the mass nerfs so that we are all forced to grind CP. We shouldn't get knocked back a peg when it's advertised as continued progression.

It was to hide nerfs imo, people are doing alot less damage, healing, but taking more... I hate the bigger numbers, and I hate the changes to the stats... I hate having no softcaps and I hate how they're forcing people to use Champ system to get back to what they were before 1.6

But I'm just one guy so no one cares :disappointed:

Can confirm, day 1 on PTS, trash mob grinding was tough and I died several times. Day 2, put some Champion Points into various things, trash mob grinding was much easier and I didn't die. It's no where near as easy as on Live, though, because right after I committed CPoints, I logged into Live and did the exact same grind to compare. It was like someone had turned the difficulty slider down to "I'm drunk and half-awake, please take pity on me".

    Also, @Panda244‌, I care  !

i hate the numbercreep, it is silly, confusing, not needed, makes things more complicated by design, and hides changes that would otherwise be obvious.

current live numbers are perfectly fine thank you, I don't recall anyone complaining about them.

Now we just need to start a poll and get everyone to vote to keep pre-1.6 numbers and stats. Cause nerfing everyone to force them to use the Champ system to get back to what they were at is silly, either keep everyone exactly what they're at and x10 like they said they were gonna do. Or don't change it at all.

all this about grinding champ points is sillyness. on pts 40 in each tree is enough to get a feel for focusing your toon, but you can get good stats on your top choices, then you need to find ways to round out as well because of major diminishing returns, your not going to need 1000 points to develop a viable build, but more is always better:)

that whats every one was thinkink - and as ZOS didn´t denied it was ment to be true but infact its the opposite the CPsytem is an extreamly vertical progression. as they butchered the armor skillines and and placed those effects into the CPsystem

40 in each constellation is 120 CP, if you start with 70 it's still going to take a very long time to grind out 50 CP, especially if you've already done all the veteran quest content like many, many VR14s have.

regardless, the new scaling is definitely to mask and distract us from how badly our health pool, regens and gear bonuses were nerfed.

It is remarkable how many people have bought this "horizontal" progression nonsense.

Does your character get more powerful?

Do you get to "unlock" even better attributes?

How is this different from "vertical" progression?

Maybe you get to choose between more different aspects, but this just gives a wider base. From then on all progression will be vertical

Light attack damage got nerfed on 1.6. It should be around 8 times higher than on 1.5, but it's only like 4 times higher. Heavy attacks are fine though!
