during the twitch video i watched them playing on console with ps4 my concern on swapping to console at the moment is positioning of controls and camera and accuracy. i saw L1 R1 X O and [ ] buttons were for skills my question how does this work with targeting an enemy since crosshair has to be on target for most skills to work. in heated combat i see issues of trying to aim then activate skills. as opposed to PC version where all the skills are handled by the other hand(unless using gaming mouse). so currently im having some concerns moving to console based on these things i noticed. basically sacrificing camera control for using a skill. and from the look of it L1+R1 = ultimate usage how is this gonna work with skills like dragon standard and templar ultimates....?

    Not sure I understand what you are asking. Like any console game camera is likely to be controlled by one stick, movement by the other and skills/attacks by the buttons.

    If you have played any other game using a controller then you shouldn't have a problem playing this game with one. If anything this game is more forgiving with the crosshair aim than a FPS like BF4.
    PUG Life - the true test of your skill

    18 characters, 17 max level, at least 1 Stam and 1 Mag of every class, 1 of every race and 1200+ CP

    Tanked to Undaunted 9+ Mag and Stam of every class using Group Finder for 90+% of the Vet Dungeon runs

    i have a ps4 am fluent with the controls but normally games make the triggers your attacks skills etc eso unlike a fps you can rapid fire your attack into an enemy they have to be in crosshairs to use 90% of the skills i see accuracy problems for console when your juggling trying to use thumb to aim and spam skills etc while hitting attacks buttons

    Personally I haven't had any problems playing games that have attack skills on all of the buttons but I guess it is just a case of getting used to it. Have you tried playing ESO using a xpadder setup for your controller to try it out?

    Sorry to bump this thread, but I wonder what the controls are gonna be. The PS4 has limited controls opposed to the PC controls.

    What we know so far
    Movement = L3
    Look = R3

    Ability 1 = [ ]
    Ability 2 = /\
    Ability 3 = O
    Ability 4 = L1
    Ability 5 = R1
    Ultimate = L1 + R1

    Most likely
    Menu = OPTIONS
    Map = Touch Pad

    What we don't know
    Run = ???
    Sneak = ???
    Jump = ???
    Camera (1st/3rd) = ???
    Quick Slot Menu = ???

    I think jump will probably be the X button. Run should be L3. But if sneak is R3 and the Quick Slot Menu is D-Pad, then how can we switch camera?

    What I hope it will be:
    Run = Press L3
    Sneak = Down button on D-Pad
    Jump = X
    Camera = Press and hold R3
    Quick Slot Menu = Up button on D-Pad

    Also, why isn't ability 1 the R1 button since it is the convenient button to use during combat. I know while using L1 you can't block, so that should be 5 indeed.

    Ability 1 = R1
    Ability 2 = [ ]
    Ability 3 = /\
    Ability 4 = O
    Ability 5 = L1
    Ultimate = L1 + R1

    You know that over a hundred functions can be assigned to a game pad.

    The number of buttons on a controller is not a limitation, Double-tap commands, press and hold commands, shift-state commands.

    Your only limitation is your own memory.

    No need to hope. Just set it in the options to reflect the choices above, I'd be surprised if it isn't customisable.

    Here is another neat function, I use an Xbox 360 wireless controller to play.
    For sprinting i just press the left stick all the way forward and I sprint automatically no other button to hit to enable sprinting just push stick forward.

    I've got all my controls mapped to a controller and I don't have any issue. My melee and block are mapped to my triggers. my bumper, x(square) y (triangle), and b(circle) are my hot keys for my skills and abilities. a(X) is my jump. Left thumb stick is movement. I click it in in order to sprint. Right is my camera, I click that in order to toggle fist and third person. Up on my d pad is my ultimate, left d pad is crouch, right d pad swaps weapons, down d pad is my quick inventory. Start pulls up my menu. If you've played Skyrim on the console the transition to ESO should be easy. Hope this eases your concerns.

    Same. The only limitations I have using a controller are chat based only
