Grouping tool that has serious trouble making a group, that is. There were some changes in 1.5 which made it function differently and they made using grouping tool ... different. By different I mean, so difficult that many don't get a group by using this tool no matter what they do. And since they can't do much besides check a few options and press a button, the experience of using it creates a perception that it's not working at all.
We got this in November:
Just a quick update on this, folks. We are still working on a fix for the Grouping Tools. The problem is a bit complex from the back end, but rest assured the fix is still a high priority. We'll be sure to give you all more information as it becomes available.
Has this priority changed and the tool has gotten no love in these past months or is the problem even bigger on the back end?
You have 1.6 PTS running now and it might help you, devs, if you employed your players for testing if that is what is needed to understand the exact reasons for it's
bad performance.
You did make two changes to the tool itself in 1.6:
Grouping Tools
-Fixed an issue if you selected a role at the same time a group search started, the icon to toggle roles could not be used.
-Sound effects will now play when you select or deselect the Preferred Roles icon in the Grouping Tools.
But those two changes don't make the tool itself work any better in actually making a group.
I can't imagine console players using a chat for finding a group to such extent as PC players can, so I believe it will be fixed by then. But can we expect it to work before that or will we really have to wait for console launch?
