Why the change to Sparks?

I'm wondering if anyone can point to a statement or a reason why the Dual Wield skill Sparks was dropped for 1.6?

I haven't done any PvP with it but from my use so far i liked it and thought it was a good utility skill that was well balanced.

Any idea's/comments?

    I am guessing they don't want anyone to have a "dodge tank" build anymore. Sparks was one such skill that, 1v1, allowed you to pretty much make it impossible for an enemy to hit you with melee attacks (or stamina-based skills). And even when morphed to Ember Explosion you were still dodging melee attacks...just not as often and from up to three targets.

    One of the things i have noticed is that all miss chance is gone from the game. Dodge chance has either replaced it or the skill has been completely removed from the game. In this instance, the skill was removed. It was because you could tank mini boss and other such mobs easily like this using this skill.
    Banned for Naming and Shaming exploiters. Great ideology ZOS.

    This too. I want it back before it hits Live. If a miniboss or other power baddie (Trolls come to mind) manages to somehow corner me, I need an escape plan or a way to prevent them from smacking me entirely.

    I can't sit there all day playing hit & run with these things and waste time. At the same time I am not a fan of plinking with a bow or staff. They might be immune to Mass Hysteria for all I know so ranged isn't a speedy option to take them down.

    Devs: Sparks was fine, why did you replace it and remove all "miss chance" skills?

    Haven't checked yet...but does this also mean they have nerfed Elude the medium armour active skill?

    Elude was dodge chance, not miss.

    They changed sparks for the same reason they changed blinding light: Enemies you could use them on you didn't need to, and enemies you wanted to use them on were immune. The abilities were too difficult to balance properly. Same goes for haste effects.
