How to play with a group?

Hey guys, the title may seem weird but let me explain. In most games that I play in a group, like SWTOR or EQ2 there is a way to see if everyone is on the same quest. Is there a way for ESO?

Now mind you, I am new (duh). I have several characters that are only level 10 (max). But I liked ESO so much that I got a friend to join. Well the other night we grouped and we pretty much destroyed everything. The only issue was the Oblivion Portals. I am making an assumption that there will be more group content later and it will be harder. Is there harder content? The only reason I ask these questions is because I have several family members and friends that I might get to buy the game. I don’t want to have a total solo game. I like the solo parts, but I want group challenges also. So I want things to do as a group.

You can share quests with members of your group when you pick them up. If you have already advanced in the quest, they will have to do the steps that you have already taken to catch up with you. Always make sure that everybody's quest marker is the same as you go through.

Most quests are relatively short and you can pick them up and finish them in one go.

There are also group dungeons (4 people max), which have a quest the first time you do it, but are repeatable after that.

Dolmens (dark anchors) and World Bosses are fun to do in a group, particularly if your group is a bit low level for the area you are in.

    I hope that helps.

I don't think there is. Some quests automatically share objective - like when you walk into a group dungeon and one of you picks up the quest, the others see a prompt to join it. But I don't know how extensive this feature is as I rarely quest in a group.

Most of 1-50 content can be done solo, but there are a few places where a group is useful. Aformentioned group dungeons (need 4 people), public dungeons (one per zone, cave icon), dolmens (Oblivion portals you saw), world bosses (skull icon). The highest level zone in the game, Craglorn, is almost entirely group content. And well, it's nice to play with friends in veteran zones in general, as they're usually less populated.

questing is all solo its really easy even for one person. world bosses and dolemans are for a few people, which there are a few of in each, in each zone.

the dungeons are the only challenging group content aside from endgame raids. each zone has 1 group dungeon and you can access the other alliances "contemporary of the same level" after you beat it. so essential 3 per zone(by porting to other alliances dungeon instances) and 5 zones. then In veteran there is much more challenging versions of most of them.

There are two dungeons per map for grouping in 1-50 zones. Public-non-scaling, which if on level is best duo'd at least and the 4-man instanced group dungeons that scale to party leader's level.

Craglorn, and once Vet you access the other factions 1-50, so their public group and 4-mans. (Although, once you do the first 4-man in your zone or unlock undaunted you can do any 4-man) Which sounds confusing lol.

at level 45 you get a mail from Undaunted to do a daily "pledge" dungeon, and another is available at Vet.

In short, yes there are group options, the most important thing when getting RL friends to start playing ESO is make sure they choose the same faction to play in as you. (ie: Ebonheart Pact, Aldmeri Dominion, or Daggerfall Covenant) because they phase us and we can only group with our own faction.

If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!
