A Simple Question

Languish4567
So I read the AMA and most of the discussions on 1.6, but I want to make sure that I am not making a fool of myself. Will there be any new playable content in 1.6, i.g. zones, dungeons, delves? Not a new reason to endlessly grind, not wedding dresses, not mounts, not the ability to off NPC's, but actual new playable content, or are we stuck waiting another six months before we see any new playable content? This question was asked upwards of 20-30 times in the AMA without response so I doubt I will get one here, but if I do thanks in advance.

If you don't consider playing the game with all the new mechanics and features to be playable content, then no. But I think you already knew that, and I'm betting the developers know how to avoid trolls on AMAs.

Other then the justice system changing how a zone can be played, it didn't sound like any until after consoles hit. On the plus side it won't cost you to play the existing content after the 17th of March.

I'm curious if they will expand some of the dungeons, you now the single delves, like they have in the past. I was underwhelmed by the size at launch. Now I believe the last zones and one delve in starter zones are much larger.

    Short answer "no".

But you do get shinies in the cash shop. Isn't that enough?

And this is the problem. All those people who mainly PvP (there's actually a lot of them) and haven't had any new PvP content since release, and won't be getting any new PvP content for a long time are going to drop subs.

That means less cash flow for ZOS, and if it isn't replaced by revenue in the cash shop, that means less money to develop playable content.

Less money to develop playable contents means less new content which means more people dropping subs, which means less revenue, etc.

    It's a downward spiral.

If they can't keep enough new content coming in to maintain subscriptions to fuel development, it'll come to a halt.

Which means in the long run the only recourse is the cash shop. But that revenue will slow down too if it's only fluff, which is why the cash shop becoming Pay-2-Win is pretty inevitable.

There are 42 days until that launch, I have 103 days left on my subscription so yes, in fact, I will have to pay after March 17th, or more specifically have already paid for 61 days past the date when monthly subscribers will no longer have to pay. Had they laid all of this out 77 days ago, I probably wouldn't have renewed for six months. Funny how they waited till us hardcore players, that are willing to go six months at a time, had renewed before they dropped this bomb.

I am in a similar situation but mine is from game cards that seem to be nonrefundable as they where gifts and the store (Hastings) is being silly about returning with no receipt. Really it doesn't bother me as I still am willing to pay for the game at this time. I would think that if you where willing to pay six months for a game subscription you enjoyed it, I don't really see much changing with the B2P scheme.

I really hadn't heard of any new content other then the IC being opened up in Cyrodill and the projected release of the Justice pvp system. I think Cyrodil design is pretty static although I did hear mention of "battlegrounds" in the Q&A today. So other then balance and system functionality I don't see PvP changing much. But who knows they will definitely have to focus more on keeping people interested as that will become their income stream.
