I know they are talking about pc owners being able to buy the game at a discount price, and transfer your PC toon to your console of choice.
Theres no cross play, and you can transfer your PC char to a console of your choice...
Can you move freely between platforms or is it a one time only? I have friends playing both on PC and Xbox One.
I actually want to play it on my Xbox, but I just know that these games have more players on PC in the long run (etc Diablo III is dead on console).

Yes there was some confusion at the time of the original offer because they didn't fully explain it. Nice that they are going in this direction.

It's a copy, yes. This will be done just before console launch, for those who are eligible and purchase the transfer. Once complete, you will have your original version of your characters on the PC/Mac megaserver(s), and a copy of them on the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 megaserver(s.) So, your characters will still be there on the PC/Mac version, but will be tied to that account and will progress individually. They won't be connected in any way to their console versions after the copy is done.
You can continue to play them there if you wish to keep that account open along with your Xbox One or PlayStation 4 version. A separate account is required for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
