Question about character "transfer" (copy) to console

I had posted this in another thread but I think it may have been passed over. Even just an "we don't know yet" answer will make me happy, at least that way I know it hasn't been passed over.

@ZOS_GaryA‌ @ZOS_GinaBruno‌ I have a question that pertains to the transfer. In ESO live it was mentioned it is actually a one time COPY not transfer. So in my head...

I get my charactered transferred to console. It is level 23 for example. I also need to purchase the console game.
I play my character on console for awhile and get it to level 36.
I can head back to my PC and continue my character from level 23 (as this is only a one time copy).

Is this correct? I'm just trying to see if I can have my character on both and play on whatever I want. I was also trying to explain I completely understand they are not 'synced' in any way.

    Hey there @MissBizz,

We recently published a knowledge base article on this very thing!

    https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/21326/

To further clarify, if you qualify for the console transfer offer, you do not have to purchase the console version of the game separately. The $20.00 transfer includes a digital copy of ESO for the console of your choice and the character transfer. Hope that helps!

That's fantastic news! So its what I figured except the transfer fee replaces buying the console game. Fantastic. Thank you for the very quick response :)

Thanks! I had sent a question to support about this and not received a complete answer yet (probably because I was too quick to question). This is what we were promised last year and that's all I needed to know. I have so been looking forward to the console version.

Does it include the Explorer's Pack bonus (play any race in any alliance)? I assume the rest of the one-off items (Scuttler Pet and treasure maps) come over if you have them still in your inventory.

Also, if we have the Imperial Edition now, will we have to buy it again for the console?

In another thread the stated that if your PC account has imperial edition or explorers pack, so will your transferred version on console. Sorry I can't link it but if you search you will find it :)

Would an edit have been sent to @ZOS_GaryA‌ ? Just in case, I'm doing this as a separate comment to my questions above.

Nope. If you already have imperial edition, your consoled transfer will have it too. Official response in that link.

Just to clarify, it is an actual duplicate of the account, not the individual character?
Which would mean all my items in bank will get duplicated to console too?
That makes me happy if so :)

In the knowledge base it states they make a replicate out your account. They do not use the word character. This gives me hope! Quick, bulk up on everything that was expensive at launch and making a killing on console launch. JK. Kind of. Lol

We're currently in the process of clarifying this question to make sure our answer is 100% accurate. once we have more info, we'll be sure to let you know!

You had to have bought and activated an account for ESO on or before 30 June 2014.
PUG Life - the true test of your skill

18 characters, 17 max level, at least 1 Stam and 1 Mag of every class, 1 of every race and 1200+ CP

Tanked to Undaunted 9+ Mag and Stam of every class using Group Finder for 90+% of the Vet Dungeon runs

ok so i have been looking over the forums for a few days now .. i seem to be getting a lot of mixed info.. i bought the game on the pc a few days ago so obviously missed the option for a transfer(want to transfer from pc to xbox one). now in some areas of the internet people are saying well ..tough.. while others are saying you will be able to purchase a transfer from the store. in truth i'm not to bothered about paying full whack for the game, i just don't want to throw endless hours down the tube on the pc and paying sub fees when i would only have to do it all over again on the xbox... all the answers i have seen thus far have been to vague .. well any help is welcome

As far as I have seen officially stated from ZOS, you are out of luck. The only people who are being offered the transfer are people who signed up before the cut off date (June or July 30/31 I think?). Although, you never know if things may change. Maybe send in some /feedback about it? I imagine if enough people asked for it, they would do it. (They are a business.. if people want to pay for something, I think it's fair to at least consider it)

thank you for such a quick reply.. i was kind of wishing there would be an option to purchase a transfer as the game on the xbox still has a few months until release . i wanted to grind as much as i could to that point.. i shall give them some feed back and cross my fingers as you yourself stated if enough interest who knows what could happen. looks like i'm back to WoW until the xbox release or confirmation of a transfer purchase crops up...sigh

Still may be a good idea to play. If you only purchased the game a few days ago, you should have the free 30 days game time to get you to B2P which then you no longer need to pay a subscription. If they do decide to offer a paid transfer outside of the original offer, you will be ahead. Even if they do not do that... at least you will be WAY farther ahead on finding a good playstyle for your build, and figuring out the game. How ESO does things is sometimes quite different from other MMO's, so even veteran MMO players may find themselves a bit confused at some things at first. (Such as mob aggro) You may even find some new found friends on the PC that also plan on transfering to Xbox, so you would already have some friendlies once console launches. :) Best of luck!

thank you again missbizz. yeah i probably will still play as i have really liked what i have seen so far. i managed to total 35 hours from the friday night to sunday night (yes i need to get out more :D ).. i have to say it is a fairly impressive game. tbh i'm more eager to see how the controls will be set up on the console version .. i may end up hating it and heading back to the pc version. EoS is a welcome change i must admit. i have been getting my mmorpg fix from wow since 2006 and i only ever log on now for the social side of it. anyway thank you ever so much, take care :)
